Having Problems viewing cams Using Chrome? Try this first...

Hi Folks,

A couple of people have mentioned they are having issues seeing cams in the chatroom whilst using the Chrome browser- working with the Admin guys, we managed to work out that going into settings (cog symbol next to the word rooms in the top right) and selecting WebRTC in the camera format option drop-down should sort it out for you.

From another post on the forum:

1. Navigate to: Settings > Safari > Advanced > Experimental Features
 
2. Set "NSURLSession WebSocket" to OFF and restart Safari (or the phone/tablet). This seems to fix the issue for now at least.

The thing is, every time you do an iOS update Apple pushes the experimental features back to your device so you may have to go through the steps again. There is a developers community ticket open with Apple covering this, so it's not just SH that's seeing the issue, but as we're using current technology it may be why some other sites aren't suffering.

So there is a good chance any sites where its working without a hitch, are based on outdated tech, which is ironic isn't it?

Not usually, a reset of your router, logging out, turning your device off and then back on again or deleting your browser cache are common solutions to this one, it also tend to happen when your connection is less than great.

Just a thought. Have been posting the link to this in regional rooms as there were no cams on lunchtime. Had a possitive result from members. Does the link work for global members ? you can tell i am not tec minded cant you

Perfect instructions thank you. Sorted it immediately. On a desktop iMac so on Chrome because hard work with cams on Safari since the fatal site update a while ago.
