How or why does one become "muted" in a chatroom thereby being unable to post a pic?

You can be muted in chat for a Varity of reasons..such as

"being abusive to another member"

"posting pics that are downloads"

"Chatting in all upper case letters i.e shouting"

"posting inappropriate comments"

"Not following the chat room rules"

It was none of those reasons and I do still not know why or who did it but the mute has now been removed by a Mod.
