Thanks for that, i understand exactly where you're coming from. We've tried to simplify the new layout further than the old one while also adding features. Its a difficult task with an application that has that much going on.
One of the new advantages of this chat is that we have the ability to 'skin' it quite easily, i'm already in the process of planning an 'accessibility' skin, for users with colour blindness, and probably a 'simplicity' skin, which will be the bare essentials, which will further resemble the old chat.
I'll log your comments down for discussion with my 'higher ups' with regards to the general look of the chat. One things for sure the 'eye' is coming back also, we've just not managed to implement it yet smile

"Sorry, we couldn't connect you to the video server" error message
when trying to 'pop out' cams, all ok if leave cams in usual 'positions'
any thoughts ?

If you are not happy with that, please submit a support ticket to admin.

But the one you moved was NOT about the chatroom debacle, it was about the matter of moving members threads and not letting them voice their opinions in their own thread. A completely SEPERATE matter!
I am about to relist the thread and, once more, I would appreciate it if you left it alone. It does not belong in a thread about the chatroom problems, it is not about that.
I expect you will be unethical and remove it again, but at least members will see that you have done so by reading the "War & Peace" length thread that this one is fast becoming, and be able to come to their own conclusions regarding your ethical behaviour.
I have not, at any point, argued that you as a mod, couldn't move posts/threads.... my problem is with the ethics of doing so.
Also, it cannot be disputed that when you merge all our posts it is far more time consuming to find the replies that concern our own individual posts, having to read through pages of unrelated stuff. And before Elliot pipes up that he doesn't have time blah, blah, I'm talking about other members replies to my post, NOT replies from mods, Admin, etc.
The bottom line is.... you are moving posts to hide the number of individual complaints, as you know that most people could not/would not be inclined to read through so many pages.
If you DO move it again, please reply in the forum as to your justification for moving an unrelated thread into this thread. I know I'm repeating myself, but my post was about your unethical behaviour and NOT about the chatroom problem. Would you agree that if a member has a concern over your ethics, they have a right to post such concerns WITHOUT having them moved to hide the content from many browsing members eyes? I am not writing anything that contravenes the T&C's.... FACT!

go to log in to new chat through google chrome and i keep getting this link
This is the default page that is distributed with nginx on EPEL. It is located in /usr/share/nginx/html.
You should now put your content in a location of your choice and edit the root configuration directive in the nginx configuration file /etc/nginx/
does anyone now what to do with it or get rid ?

Can you clear chromes temporary files / cache and try again. If this doesn't work, put in a support ticket and we'll take a look at whats going on.

Again you are misunderstanding my point. Whether or not you CAN move posts is NOT in question. It is the ethics of doing so, especially when you have moved a totally unrelated subject matter to this thread, just because it highlights a DIFFERENT, but I think more important, unethical practice of yours.

Here's one I couldn't see on the list of known bugs.
Typing in main chatroom when I had an unread whisper tab in yellow.
when i clicked on an emoticon, it did not appear on my text that was in the main room.
when i eventually clicked on the whisper tab, there were the 8 or 9 emoticons cos I kept hitting the same one wondering why it wasn't appearing.
So, if you have an unviewed whisper, you can't use emoticons.
Or at least I can't in this session.

Small issue where if you click on a cam just after the user stops camming it shows as loading and the cam counter is still incremented until you manualy close the cam. The problem comes as the cam list is not updated fast enough at the time the cam stops so it still shows in the list.
Not a major bug just an annoyance that requires manual intervention.

i,ve tryed do what you suggested but it still isn,t working have to see if i can work out how to submit a support ticket
That's quite strange, could you try another browser for me, just to rule that out.
i cant enter new chat dose any one have same prob
every time i try to get on this new chat room it sayes it is connecting me the it sayes i am diconnected please try again but each time i try the same thing happen please can you get this sorted after all you have got my money for this service thankyou
Just logged in and checked out the new chatroom this evening.
Not particularly impressed with the new chatroom - I felt the old one was much better!!
What do you think?
is there going to be a fix for when you change rooms
when you click on a room it trys to show the room description, but as the forums dont have them it causes an issue where the join button jumps up just enough so that if you incorrectly time clicking it will select the next room down instead which is annoying
I'm getting really p'd off now with getting kicked out of chat!!!! Been having problems for the last few weeks now and come to think of it... its only been since i volunteered to try out the new chat?? Never had any of this before hand.
It started off with when i typed it not appearing in chat then getting kicked. Now im getting kicked within approx 5 mins of being in there. Sorry.. but its a joke!!
Everytime I go onto the new chat it loads then kicks me back off and I mean EVERY time....I am finding in really irritating!! Please please please try and fix this asap. I am paying a fee to use this service and am not getting the full use of it. Using the old chat room doesn't give me access to all participants. Hence not getting full service!!
Looking forward to hearing what's happening and when it's happening to stop this error!
You and everyone else, although I don't pay for my account so I daresay my opinions are not valid anyway.
Our usual room users found the new chat such an annoyance with being kicked and cams not working, we went back to the old chat and that has just broken too! Fabby.

i was in new chat .. people suddenly dissapear, then it says no one is in the room ,, but we all are ??? then Bang we are back, then Bang we are all gone..
Cameras didnt work..
If you use MESSAGE (below) it crashes you out of the room, or hangs and says the person you were messages is no OFF LINE (they never were)
If you Whisper it says yo a re the only one.. definatly not !!
just repeated crashes, and general mayhem...

and as for clicking on someones profile , and the profile only apperas behind... how tedious is that to keep tabbing pages forfront and back..

why are all the vids so small no cams to night in new chat its crap so far

Several people have reported issues with the new chat where they
a) Can access new Chat, or 'beta' version before
b) They work normally for 3-5 minutes
c) They 'crash' or appear to be 'kicked out' of new Chat
Whilst investigating/helping some friends who were encountering this issue we checked which version of Flash Player they were using
(You can do similar via )
In both instances we found that they were on older versions of Flash Player and as soon as they clicked the link off that web page to go to tthe Adobe Flash Player download centre or and installed the latest version, those issues have ceased to occur.
Why this should be when the new Chat doesn't use Flash Player per se, we don't know.
However talking to both friends they advise that they were also viewing cams when they went into Chat and the web-cam/video-cam part of new Chat continues to rely on Flash Player to work.
Updating Flash Player has now resolved their issue rather than any SH fix of the new Chat
The conclusion we have drawn being that it was their Flash vserion causing new Chat issues for them rather than SH.
(Elliott/SH Admin, might know why this impacts new rather than old Chat)
TOP TIP - If your Flash version is not the newer v10.1......
then I'd recommend downloading the latest version. However the tip is to un-tick the Include in your download option for Free Google Toolbar (optional) ( MB) as we've found from friends and family that this extra bit people have missed and downloaded has caused them lots of issues.
As for the separate issue where multiple users crash out at the same time, I understand that there is an earlier reply from Elliott/Support about this being worked on, or 75% fixed

when is sh going to sort out this prob,,,,we keep crashing sometimes within every 10,mins...god this is bad,,,,members who pay,,,should be given a free year, to stay,,,why change it ,,if it broken

I don't think there is much logic in having to fist see who is watching and then scrolling down a seperate list to find that particular profile or profiles. Why can't profiles be directly accessed from the Watchers window?
