I have tested the new chat on my HTC HD2 Windows Mobile phone running Win Mobile 6.5 and Opera browser.
As expected no cams, but as you can now turn cams off got more room for chat.
Successful test.
Will test other combinations shortly.
It would be great of we could have the persons name in the same colour as the text....this is really handy in the old rooms when it gets really busy and is causing a problem already in the new rooms and they are no where near full.

Running Firefox 3.6.8 under Windows 7 64 bit pro
When in private room I can still see the main room cams (The Pool) and get the sound from the main room.
Can't get the pop up camera in 'The Pool' to work.
Otherwise quality of cams is fine

as we are testing 'nt it be
better to let us use that facility, even though some of us have'nt upgraded for extras

manico - part of testing is the extras / non extras functionality, we need to see it from both upgraded and non upgraded users.

Possible new one.
- usual quick chat speed
- opened a cam, OK
- zoomed the cam, ok
- reduced a cam, ok
- chat went to 4-5 seconds delay for circa 15 seconds then all fast again
managed to repeat 3-4 times
All other 'sessions' during this working normal speed
I can't connect to web cams I get the message
"sorry we couldn't connect to video server"
I'm running Xp pro sp3
disabled firewall
explorer 8 and firefox latest
have tried many times old chatroom is ok.
This is still not working although have Extras and it isn't on this morning's bug list

If you look at Live Cams list, then all in alphabetical order - as per Members listing
However if select the "+" against a camera itself, you get the white pop up listing of available live cames to select from
However this pop list is NOT in alphabetical order
For the first few days I couldnt access the beta chat, it said there was a problem uploading my profile. Today i downloaded the chat again and it worked right away.
Couple of suggestions :
Allow font options to stay on until you click them off. Reason being if 3 users have the same colour, but one writes in bold, one in italics and one normal then its easy to distinguish who says what.
Allow the user to choose font size, the large font on there doesn't seem all that big to me, even with my glasses on.
Enable links in chat to the forums and other areas of the site, for example if a member asks about a club they could then be directed straight to the reviews for that club. New members would find this very useful when they are not familiar with the site.
I've updated my main post, with features we've taken on board and bugs fixed today. Including adding an 'Extra Large' font option.
With regards to the text formatting options, these won't be staying on, if we did that everyone would be constantly talking in bold, italic and underline, thus negating the entire point.

23/08 circa 22:25 'screen lock issues, could carry on posting but whilst others coulod read chat nothing passing back to my screen.
Think happened to deniseprincess, sexyme09 and bambi earlier this evening as well
23/08/10 - Cameras continuing to work after user has left for another room.
The above is also the same for a viewer, I can view a cam, change rooms and take that persons live cam with me to a totally different room without their knowledge.

Icons have 'frozen' no animation
Cheers Elliot - yes, was a local issue here F5 cleared it.
I am unable to view profiles in the beta chat. Running IE8 Windows xp pro. When I click on profile a new web page opens initially loading profile then reverts to login page. Have cleared history and cache, tried loading from desktop and main site all to no avail.

In existing/old chat, a profile could be in a room on server 1 and then also log into chat again and either stay in the Beach Bar or access another room also on server 1
(obviously can't have same profile in one room twice)
In the new/Beta chat, it doesn't seem possible to create a room and then open a new chat session so as to be in The Pool and a Room at the same time.
(When we try, the new session always 'cancels' the old session)
Is this a :
- limitation within the Beta chat test server
- limitation of the new Chat itself
- limit set against a profile using Beta chat test server
Please note it's still possible to have 1 beta chat session running and multiple existing chat sessions
First post updated with new fixes. Note if you use the desktop version you need to relaunch through the site to get the latest version, not through your desktop shortcut.
HnS - We always intended for users to get in the chat once, but we couldn't do this on the last chat due to a technical limitation, but with this one we can.
However, we do have the ability to let a user sit in several rooms at once in the same chat (you will have a tab per room), and we will be looking to follow up with this feature shortly after we launch version 1.

Are end users "Chat Room Settings" stored locally or at the SH server level ?
Looking at them, whenever I come back into Beta I have the following settings
- Play Sounds Chat = Off Whispers = On
- Show Whispers defaults to "In separate tabs"
- Cameras = small
- Camera quality = medium
- font size = medium
Of these I've changed them all since first starting using Beta chat, however whilst every one seems to stay set at what I've set from session to session, one doesn't. Namely Cameras, which always defauslts to medium for every session and has to be reset to small.
Could this be changed so that for each session the camera value = small rather than medium ?
Alternatively, could we be smarter ?
As 'ordinary' users are limited to 2 cams, then ok top default to medium, whilst for 'extras' users to default to small ?
(Irrespective of which PC/laptop used manually resizing to small so as to get 5 cameras on screen is getting irritating)
Appreciate not a bug, just a question/observation
