HI Guys and Gals,
Just a short update on the chat. Lee's been working hard here for the last couple of weeks finalising some bits on the chat (stuff you won't see but is needed). We're also working on a hardware upgrade for the whole of SH before this goes in (hence the downtime periods recently).
Once the above is completed, and we've done a little bit more load testing, the chat will come out of beta and come fully live. Timescale its going to be at least 1 week away, but more than likely closer to two weeks if we find no further issues. This however could extend further should further things need to be addressed, but I think this is quite unlikely as its had extensive testing already.
The beta chat is still available and usable for everyone to use, although no one seems to be - I don't know why because its much better! This thread will stay open for further discussion if needed.
Thanks to everyone who has tested, given us input, and helped so far. Hopefully we can all enjoy it in the very near future.

Hi, just tried the beta Chat and got the message "There was an error authenticating with the chat service. Please contact support"
Hi, yesterday evening I tried the new Desktop version and this version isn't saving settings between 'sessions'; for example font colour, font size or camera size aren't saved. Ted
In preparation for the launch of the new chat, I've moved the join buttons around on the page in order to encourage some more use. We'd like people to slowly get used to it rather than having it forced on them in one go. At most there is probably a week left before we make the full switchover, so hopefully we can get some action in there this week.
The old chatroom will remain available just underneath for anyone who wishes to use it.
tradsweet - thanks for the bug report, this is a known issue and will be addressed shortly after launch.

The new chat and site messenger have been down since last night, we've identified the cause of this issue this morning and we're currently in the process of fixing the issue now, and preventing it from happening again.

chat works great for me but when my BF tried signing on on my computer on same browser it wont work just says done but blank screen

when I try to open chat I get a blank screen with "Invalid callback request." at the top.
Is the chat broken or is it just me?
All I get when I try to get into the 'new' chat room is "Invalid callback request" . So can only use the old one until it as disabled at the end of Oct. Then what?

Hi all, after going into chatroom via the old system i find that most other people are having the same problem - we cannot understand or enter via the new ways. Does something thats not "broke" need fixing? We are not all comp. whizz kids just your avaerage Joe and Joannes.

We're currently tracking a bug with the new beta chat room that presents the 'Invalid callback request' message that some members are experiencing. Removing your Cookie for Swinging Heaven may clear the problem, or by logging out of the site then back in, however we're working on a better solution.
In the meanwhile, you will still be able to access the Old Chat room by following the prompt to do so under the chatroom link.

I think a lot of people would just prefer a more stable platform, over a few extra mods.
The message " Invalid callback request ", does not bode well as never had any problems with the old style chat displaying such messages.
Some things I believe are best left working as they are.
Plus tonight chat room kept crashing, which is something I have not had for ages....in fact the last time I had this was when changes were brought in??
I am all for change if it works, but every time something on here is changed, it seems there is a period of time where nothing works properly.....no point doing something unless it is going to work properly surely?
