I prefer inline whispers too. The challenge the development team now has is that they've implemented italics and bold as features of standard open chat, so they'll need to come up with another way of uniquely highlighting whispers.
waste ................. cant get in main two chat rooms........... its like waiting for a bus .......... iv'e got more chance of catching a bus out side my home than getting in chat rooms ..............HERE !! pmsl think its a early nite again.................lol

not sure if its been noted buit desktop chat kicks you after about 10-15 mnins all time like a reboot? the normal way access doesnt as far as i can tell
shite the same with ...8 months and still get in sad

Get in OK about 99% of time, other times is when Chat or site issues.

- which operating system
- which browser
- which version of Flash
when you raise the ticket
I appreciate this is probably not very important to most of you but I really, really, REALLY NEED the roll eyes emote back PLEASE!!!!

There's a separate thread, http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/swingers-forum/viewtopic/342394.html , regarding expanding the Chat emotes and 'bringing back' some of the ones from the old Chat.
(Well not so much 'bringing back', rather Support/Developers spending time with some of the old Chat ones to try and convert from being Flash based so as to work in the new non-Flashed based Chat, not to be confused with the webcams which still are Flash based)

Had some problems with chat tonight ... got in ok but couldn't change rooms, the "connecting to room" message was up for ages and the room I was already in froze.
Had to log out and back in again. It's happened a few times so I'm now taking it as a sign that I need my beauty sleep. smile
Just thought I'd let you know. I'm never sure how important you consider these things to be - is it worth a support ticket or do you check this thread for new issues?
We do check this thread but very often these things can be down to a persons PC and how much resource it has or other programmes that are running, so if its a persistent problem a support ticket is best as we can then go through it with you to try and identify the issue.
Its ok St3v3 just ignore marya its cos shes blonde,shes probably forgot to turn on her monitor wink lol
So my hassles with the chatroom continue.. not only can I NEVER get into either the Beach bar or Pool but when I do eventually get into the Beach.. After 250 attempts spread over half an hour it says connecting.........
Then screen goes grey for 20mins.....
then thats it.

This is a PAYING SITE!!
If it was bought in a shop I would have taken it back and got my money back months ago.
I hope your intake of new members is high because its rapidly gone to the bottom of my favourite things to do in my spare time.
Will I be renewing my membership with SH??????
No chance after the experience over the last 3-4 months.

As you've been around for such a long time and know the way things work this is probably a stoopid question, but have you opened a support ticket about your issues? Have the tech team tried to help you out or have you been trying to resolve things yourself?
I didn't say I want my money back. I daid IF I had bought this product in a shop I would have taken it back and got a refund.
As for the software not being compatable and all the other blurb you have come out with. The simple facts are that the chatroom is less useable than it ever has been since broadband became popular. It doesn't matter why. SH is losing long standing members as a result. If I thought raising a support ticket would help the chatroom become more user friendly then I would have done it months ago. I'm not stupid. Nothing has changed at my end.. Same network provider and same laptop. At least 20% of the chat nowadays in the rooms are of getting booted and getting frustrated.

Might be the same network, but network providers often change/upgrade as do operating systems, browsers and programmes such as flash. Microsoft release patches almost daily, Mozilla every month or as do adobe? Our service provider is currently BT, our connection is sometimes flaky, we use a mac with Mac Office and the Mail programme Outlook found within it, it doesn't work very well with our BT mail due to smtp settings not being available like they used to and yet an earlier version of Outlook does and so it goes on.
You claim that the chatroom is less user friendly is not one we personally find has much merit. I don't like the current chat software SH uses much preferring the old system and software when there were 3 servers but in them days (pulls braces ee by gum) we did have connection problems and I should imagine it was much more problematic/high maintenance then that what is is now? But the ease of use and the slight improvement in the tools available is better.
Your reply to Cubes re the Support Ticket and you seemingly thinking it's not worth it is class, you have a problem and yet you cannot raise a support ticket to try and help the admin here try and rectify it/help you? That would be like me phoning up bt sales and ranting at them that I'm not getting the 'up to 20mb speed' they offer...they sales team can't do anything (other than laugh at me probably) but at least if I raised a support issue with them i 'might' get somewhere and a degree of help?
I can understand your frustration but can't help but think some of it is your own fault and borne out of your lack of raising a support ticket with support.
As for getting your money back if it was a shop, lol We get less than 3mb speed with our connection ..my face is permanently blue these days and BT support have visited our home, changed our connection/ been at the top of our drive hanging off a close by telegraph pole and still they haven't rectified it....but at least they tried and have tried? raise a ticket and at least give SH tech support a chance.
