excellent ideas. but does the first one not conflict with the aup?
or would it be seen in the same light as a password protected room.
I don't think it is against the AUP ( though Mods feel free to correct me if I'm wrong ) as there have been rooms for couples/bi fems only for some time. I used to use them to get away from the feeling of being in a fishbowl with single guys ready to pounce. Singles might feel a bit left out by that but they can't say there's not enough other rooms for them to go to.

Nope it's not against the AUP.... Kicking someone out of a room because they are not a couple/bifem etc is though. I know that it has been discussed about making this an option so that we dotn get hoards of people complaining they dont want singles in a couples room...

No you can't kick someone on the basis of their location, status, gender, or anything else like that.
You can only boot them if they are rude, abusive or whatever, but even then, you must warn them first ;-)

I said..... It has been discussed about the possibility of having the option to open rooms that allowed only couples into a couples room on the new chatroom.... Nothing about it not being against the AUP rolleyes

My wishlist (most of which has already been listed before):
An ignore button - I take onboard PoloLady's comments but if nuisance individuals are put on ignore by a number of people they should eventually get the message. If this is built into the next version, I'd also want a visual indicator of who I have on ignore so I have the option of taking the ignore off again
A popup that appears when you click or hover over a user's name that shows basic details about them (some suggestions: location/distance, pics available , link to ads)
A toggle button to be able to shrink the top boxes where the cams and room list boxes are to maximise screen space
A visual indicator of who opened a user-defined room. I think this is particularly important so people know who to speak to about problems from other users, and to see whether the one with the control is present. Ideally I'd like the information also displayed in the room title e.g. SH Chatters Room
Emoticon drop-down list
And of course, much better reliability: ensuring that if a server is down, you can't try to access it; removal of the 5 minute delay (which is so simple to fix I'm amazed it is still here); sorting out the screen refresh problems so that emoticons don't keep disappearing or showing in the wrong places in the chat

Okay.... I will quote the whole post I was replying to and highlight which bit I referred to rolleyes

IF the option was created to open rooms that only allowed couples/bi fems etc then obviously it would mean that the people that the room was intended for would only be allowed to get in... As it stands so far this option is not avaliable and room hosts have been abusing the kick button by trying to exclude single men. The rules say at the moment that it is an offense to exclude someone because of status/creed/colour/location etc within created rooms....

Let me try and make this clear!! confused

You can open a room for Couples only, blondes only or blonde couples only if you so wish.
You cannot, however, boot someone from the room just because they are not a couple, a blonde, or a blonde couple. The room name is just an indication of the type of people you would like to use that room. If the people that actually frequent that room do not meet the criteria then that is bad luck.
Having said that however, watch this space with regards to the new chatroom!! :wink:

I definitley agree about this - we have a room which is opened by several of us depending on whose on first and it would be good to be able to pass ownership without the hassle of closing and reopening it!

Ah now there is a problem with this.....
When the chatroom was a mIRC based one we could type a command that would mean that we could ignore anyone that we wanted to (not the OP's as we have to see everything that is said) but.....
If that person was saying stuff and people were replying you then wanted to know what they were saying... Especially if the responses were heated etc.... So you ended up taking the ignore off just so you could see what was being said rotflmao

Curiosity killed the cat and all that wink

Cant quite get my head round the wanting to see what the person you have ignored is saying.............YOU have them on possible use are they to you......YOU IGNORED them for gods interested in anything they have to no longer exist inh your life.

Having posted reply above I have now read all the posts! So I must agree with many about the features and so here's my wish list of a dozen! - some I dont think have been suggeted before others have!
1) Room owners Identified in the room - different colour?
2) Ability to change room owners or have multiple ones maybe reserved room names with registered room ops would solve this?
3) Multiple Cams views in same room - 2 or 3 would do!!
4) Abilty to enlarge cam window without losing quality or the chat text
5) Ignore button to stop unwanted whispers
6) No 5 minute wait if server boots you but 10 min wait if a room operator does!!
7) Ability to change/enlarge display font to help us oldies with poor eyesight!
8) Pop-up whispers is seperate window so you can whisper and chat without having to jump between items in a moving list
9) Better info on friends page as to where a friend is on th chat system and maybe a link to take you directly to that room - subject to room size limit.
10) Larger room limits - say 100 instead of 70
11) Drop down emoticon list - like the one here!!
12) Ability to use voice chat if you dont have a camera. (maybe incorporates or similar!!)
Probably some more but that will do for tonight
any comments?

Agree 100% with the above one added improvement...
Would it be possible for S/heaven to employ a guy with a JET washer...to come round to evryone house and JET wash all that Yuecky man juice out of the backs of our comps?...

I like this idea, a whisper that only works when you accept it, thereby keeping the main room free of the dreaded italics.
Did I use 'thereby' in a sentance, well thats never happened before.

What we would like is if you are a couple ............... 2 logins.
So both you can chat at the same time.
Most homes have more than 1 pc now.
Just stops fighting on who gets to talk on line.
The PC becomes 'keyboard' becomes the equivalent of the TV 'remote'. biggrin
