Can i just ask if there is a problem with the mail system ?
I sent three mails to a user and have just recieved a mail back asking for a reply which i have sent and is still showing as unread in my sent box.
I been having refresh trouble in the mail system this afternoon which suggests there could be a problem.
Is anyone elst experiancing difficulties. confused

Yeh but they asked for a reply which i have sent (marked unread). Why ask for it if they have it in thier inbox confused

Perhaps they have not logged on to read the mail since you sent it?
They may also prefer to open their mail when it suits them, not necessarily when they receive any. If they are a popular member, they may have loads of mail to read through before they get to yours :?
They won't have got lost in cyber space - they have not been read - simple ;-)

My pm's get forwarded to my email account so whilst I read them pretty soon after they are sent they won't show as read until I log in and open the pm from here.

OK maybe thats it or i didnt read the mail he sent till after i mailed replies as some othe mails have since been read by other users i'v PM'd.

Ooooo now I like that. I know its bad ( and may potentially get me flamed ) but I hate that people can see when I have read their mail because I don't always have time ( or to be honest inclination ) to reply right then and there but do open to make sure its nothing important. Hmmm ... explain the forwarding lol

I'm not having a moan
A user just asked me where thier reply was to a PM he sent me and i thought i sent thet reply ages ago so i went and had a look and the reply was still unread so i sent another reply to the second pm that i had allready sent it.
Now over the past 3 hours i sent this user 5 PM's and all are unread. Now the user is posting in the forum so is still online and was online when i got the PM asking for his reply.
hence the question on whether the mails system is working or not or if anyone else was haveing a problem. It appears they are not so it must be me doing somit wrong and just need to find it.
Abilen the setting you want is in my settings under the mail settings heading where there are three options
Send notification
Forward mail
Do nothing
Just check the forward option and save settings

It sounds to me that he has either added you to his *ignore member* button OR he has blocked certain types of mail getting into his box - such as single males trying to contact him.
Both of these options would mean the mail does not go into his mail box and therefore can't be read.
Third option - the mail is in his box but he says it isn't so he doesn't have to open and reply to it rolleyes

I'm inclined to think this is someone winding you up Goose. Brush it aside and move on ;-)

He needs to check his mail box settings - he may have blocked your account directly or indirectly with the *blocks types of account messaging me* button - with that you can stop certain types of account mailing you at the click of a button.
Send me his nick and I will pm him for you to see if mine gets through if you like?
