Ok my little moan..... why oh why do people do into a chat room then sit there saying nothing ? even when we say hi or hello its pure silence, its rude and hacks us off, surely if you go into a room its because you want to chat.? cant something be done that if their not chatting then they get ejected, its driving us nuts ......................
perhaps they only go into the rooms to watch the video feeds ! As I understand it anyone that doesn't chat for 30mins is automatically logged out of chat (although they only log back in straight away). And manners would help a lot on this site. We always respond to every message and chat even if its a polite no thank you.
I would hazard a guess that part of the reason is A/ The whisper facility, a lot seem to chat in Whisper and B/ Ability to log in to two rooms at once.
The majority of the times when I enter a room and say hi I get no reply... edited to say: I've been into three rooms this morning and said "morning all" in all of them, and got no reply in any. In fact, in two of them, those that were chatting just carried on chatting to their "friends" so my post was a little island in the chat - most welcoming, that -, and in one room someone even said "hi" to another who had just entered the room but had not posted!!
i have experienced the cold shoulder in lots of the silent chatrooms... but then i had had a few meets in the past where the couple involved have no manners or etiquette so im not surprised! mark
"Manners maketh the person" If they can't be bothered to reply, would you want to (a) waste time talking to them anyway, or (b) meet them... Usually, if I'm in a whisper, I'll catch up with the room 'hellos' when I've finished that conversation. It's an old chestnut on all chat sites and it'll always be there. You just have to accept it. If 99 people replied to every 'hello or hi room' we'd soon be having forum threads of "there's too many hi's spoiling the flow of chat/banter in a room". :doh:
I am usually in at least 2 rooms and i can still manage to chat in them all, its not that difficult surely ? Also often inundated with flipping whispers too !
