Hi, I bought a pc from a friend and overall am happy with it..............but particularly at peak hours in the chat room it will continually crash. I am not exactly very pc literate and it is not licensed so i don't know if that makes any difference. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated and how to solve the problem. Cheers, Meggo.
Thanks for reply. I live in Manchester so couldn't put it down to that, I don't think. I'd put up with it if I lived in Spain lol. Cheers.
i have also had a few disconnections but have narrowed it down to the new msn .. whenever i open an msn chat window i seam to get disconnected and i wondered if its the new msn live that is conflicting with chat .. i would and am sure admin would be interested in any others that this may be happening to and if there is a possible connection to chat crashing and the new 'live'
Try installing a more stable web browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Opera. Just google for the download sites.
Windows Live Messenger here and no problems running it with the chatroom open. Would agree that you need to check your browser and maybe try a different one to see if that's the problem.
You may also need to check the version of Adobe Flash is up to date too. Have a look at this webpage for further info:
Lastly, if your PC isn't licenced (I'm assuming you mean you have an unlicenced copy of Windows installed) it may also be missing critical files - if so, you need to consider biting the bullet and buying a legit copy or a new PC.
Cheers for replies. I think it is bite the bullet time lol
