I know that phone fun is something that should not be suggested in the chatrooms but as it is obviously a popular pastime if it would be a sensible compromise to have a room dedicated to those wishing to take part in phone chats. What do others think?
I would have thought the "lets Meet Up" forum handles that adequately, wouldn't you?
The chatrooms are for chatting surely..
Chatrooms for chatting, now there is a novelty. I've been in plenty where there was not much chat lol. I tend to agree if the fone fans want to set up a room I see no harm in it.
I was in a private room and had cause to ring the person who I was camming with.
The delay in you saying something, then seeing the person reacting some seconds later, was quite annoying, and we went back to typing very quickly.

One of the main reasons that "phone fun" is not permitted in the chatroom's is that we (the op's) have found that the rooms very often are a breading ground for rule breaking and breaches of the site AUP. I can't explain why that is... it just seemed to happen all the time dunno
When the rooms were banned, our workload was dramatically reduced.

GnV...forgive me for asking, but wtf do you do with your phone then ??? lol
I`m intrigued
when an unwanted sales call is taken, I usually put the phone in the drawer. Does that help?

Send naughty photos and naugty texts
Seems a bit odd that you can have a cam showing someone having sex (either with someone or by themselves), arrange to meet up or just type utter filth (don't ye' just love it smile ) but you get told off and a warning if you suggest that you talk about sex on the phone. It can't be anything illegal as other sites have designated phone rooms (e.g. gaydar). It's a funny world we live in.
nobody said it was for reasons of illegality, just read Ian's post.
It really is annoying in a room when someone constantly trolls for "phone fun"! And why should someone get away with trying to take people out of the room anyway?
The Forum deals with this adequately and I see no reason to change it.
There is always the log out button if other sites meet your need more appropriately.
The Forum seems to cater adequately for everything. Why bother with a chatroom.

I am quite a busy person, and I only have a couple of hours each day to visit the site. The chatrooms suit me well as I can pop into them, talk bollox for a while and leave. It's a bit like a rolling stone and carries on perfectly well without me.
If I were to be a forum user, I'd have to come in from work and start reading all the threads from where I last logged out. Some of these can grow by a dozen pages a day. In the time I have for the site, I wouldn't have the time to read all the threads.
Anyway - isn't a chatroom the same as a forum, only it works in real time lol
Ian
My point exactly, so why all the fuss if someone wants to set up a phone room. You see lots of camers using the phone anyway.

I use both the forum and the chatrooms. Each of these have a different purpose for me. Forums, I get to view my opinion on various subjects etc. Chatrooms, chat about various things with various people without having to make much effort in reading pages of threads, I also get to make many more contacts in chat than I do in the forums.

I'm not actually saying that trolling should be encouraged - but that happens anyway, any impolite or inappropriate behaviour should be curtailed. People who want to talk on the phone would leave anyway, trust me, you don't get hundreds of whispers.
Anyhow, I can see when an issue isn't worth carrying on with and resign myself to the status quo. I'm hardly a red blooded revolutionary am I? lol
It isn't just phone sex that is trolled for, it is no more annoying than any other repeated post. I only know of a handful of room hosts that actually do anything about it and remind the guests that it is frowned upon.
There's nothing wrong in a debate that challenges the status quo and although things are unlikely to change we shouldn't feel nervous about voicing an opinion. That's the whole point of a forum.
One major issue with phone fun rooms or posts in chat is that very often people post phone numbers, not always their own and sometimes premium rate, some of the main reasons that its not allowed.
