Problem with making Private Room

How do you make a private room

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

Go to chatroom, select the rooms list and you’ll see an option called “+ New Room”.

Problem now with a pvt room is that your cam, which used to be private to that room as well, is now broadcast across every room you are in without warning. For it to be actually private you need to close every other room you were in and only have the private room open. There should be a warning about this, as there is on other sites. 😲

In addition to what has been said, when creating a new room you are automatically entered within that room... you name it and give it a password and therefore own it till you leave. Like wydda says its frustrating to have to leave all other rooms in order to cam with someone in your/their private room.

Whenever I use a private room I prefer to cam in just that room. That's why it's private right? Each to their own I guess. 😘

Have put support / tech on notice regarding this, it may or may not be something they are aware and I'm not overly experienced using a cam in the chatrooms but have since tested it and can confirm your findings. (apologies in advance to those requiring counselling after observing my ugly mug)

Nice one JRH - I couldn't work out whether it was meant to be like that or it was an oversight. I mean, there are times when you think your 'on your own' as it were, and then discovered you were broadcast across lots of rooms, which one may not have anticipated 😳😉 Thanks for following up - which I could do as well if you think it would be worthwhile. 👌

Had same issues, been onto Loz and she said she will chase the tech team.

Hi, ordinarily i'd push you along the ticket route but they've been made aware and pointed to this thread also so might just take up more of their time. I'm sure they'll sort it soon enough. Thanks for highlighting it in the first place though.

Can I just check, after you have created your private room (mine in the screenshot is called test) and before you hit the play button to activate your cam, are you clicking the 3 dots followed by publish in "test" room?

Granted, it is not the simplest way to broadcast in a private room only, but I have been testing this and found that you only appear in the private room if you use this method.

Hello Sarah, I've tested similar to yours, it works as you say (but feel sure when I did the same from a few days ago it didn't and instead broadcast me in all rooms i was in.
