Is anybody else having problems cutting and pasting. I had an incident today where this guy was abusive in whisper but i couldnt cut and paste it to bring it to public. My computer was playing up and the keyboard for some reason has gone into american mode, Would this be the reason i couldnt do it?

Problems cutting and pasting
Tony i did and was promptly told she would ban both of us for 48 hours and get admin to deal with. I thought this highly unfair. Its no wonder a lot of single fems dont go into chat. That is why i took his comments and put them in the public domain to try and bring it to an ops attention but instead i got told off. I explained i couldnt cutand paste and was just told that theres was ok and that was that.

You should copy and paste any abuse to the chat op in private ( whisper )
There is a "no name and shame" policy on this site so by just pasting it in the room for all to see is also making yourself break the rules.
If you get problems, yes do contact a chat op, were there to help, But either ask to speak to the op in private then paste it to them ( in whisper ) or send a pm.
When chat ops are on line you can either see them floating about the chat rooms ( the ones with the gold star ) or there name will be in purple at the bottom of the forum index list

The other option that I've used in the past is to take a screen print (Alt+PrtSc buttons in Windows) and save it as a graphic file. You can then email it as an attachment

Hornyinslough, if the room host is hosting the room properly they will see the whispers you paste in the main chat and they should take action, by warning the offender then booting them if they persist.
Otherwise as Jags has mentioned pm one of us Ops (names in purple on the forum) with the user name, chat server and chatroom name and we will look into it

thanks shireen, i just noticed the discrepency and thought it needed pointing out. personally, id rather not cut and paste, but i do only reply in the room....which is kinda still naming and shaming i suppose
ive no qualms about noting down times etc and reporting to ops tho, i think thats the way forward :thumbup:

The chat ops are your best bet as said above, you can also put in a support ticket as we can check the logs, remember to let us know what server, what room and the approximate time.

If people are just whispering "hello" then yeah a lot do paste them in the room and as far as i am aware that is allowed.
The site does have a no naming and shaming policy though, but..
..Posting a whisper "j_blogs whisperd : hello" isn't really naming and shaming.
If you read Jennywren_1 post though, she ain't just on about whispers, she's on about abusive whispers according to her first post, abuse of any kind should be reported to a chat op though the proper channels and not just posted in the room as this is a little more serious than just getting an "hello" in the room and needs to be dealt with properly.

Sorry, I only thought it was necessary to answer the original question about abusive whispers until you questioned me, if you feel there was a bit of discrepency there then that was maybe just a misunderstanding

Jenny, i was the op who told you off, but as i recall it when i got into the room, the member in question, ( sorry don't recall and yourself) were in a slanging match.
Both of you insisted that the other was to blame, informed you that i couldnt check who was at fault, but if you BOTH didnt stop it, then i would ban and ask admin to check.
We have no way of checking on things that have happened pre are arrival in the room. I tried to help you at the time to copy and paste your whispers, but it didnt work.
My coment on banning the pair of you was to defuse the problem and not allow it to escalate into a full blown argument.
