There will be a quiz in a specially opened Quiz Room this Friday at 10pm. A specific quiz room will be opened to avoid people getting their panties in a bunch over The Pool getting a temporary name change. :twisted: It will be a 30 question general knowledge quiz. It will be blokes vs birds and it's just a bit of fun. Everybody's invited. Loffs, bantz and general nincompoopery is expected. Bring yer thinking caps and plenty of booze.
Why make it an admin room? It's kinda obvious if its popular cause people will wanna join that room to play the quiz,,, if people wanna join the quiz room n the pool so be it that's there choice..
I think the idea of an Admin room is a fab way to do it (re only having the ability to join one of them) and is something I'm sure Zilt will consider if commandeering one of them...would probably be along the lines of The Terrace as it's the least used. As for the room limits, yup I'm sure that would also be considered. As for restriction of cameras, currently there is no restriction on anyone using their camera in any of the rooms, to change that just for the quiz would neither be fair or consistent with policy.

I take yer point, it may detract but no member is forced to watch a camera. I'm not even sure the ability to give just one room a block on cameras is possible but even if it was it wouldn't be in-keeping with the usual policy that a member logged in to chat can choose what room they want to use & whose camera they want to watch without restriction (with the exception being private rooms set up by members and even then a member can still view a camera even if requested not to) At the same time as this, it will most likely be a chat-op as Quizmaster, if the room was set to no cameras allowed (or restricted by software) it wouldn't look too good for the site as in 'one rule for them (chat-ops) one rule for the others (members) which as I'm sure you'll appreciate is not the done thing, so to present an even approach, level playground etc the same rules apply to the Quiz Room as across the rest of the site inclusive of who can/cannot attend/go on camera.
Really hope this works for you. Good to see someone making an attempt to offer something a little different. I know Fabio used to do it a while back and I even ran a few many years ago in the old BBW Room - can be great fun if you get the right crowd.
Why the barely concealed animosity to people who prefer the Pool to other rooms? I was under the impression that anyone could join any public room? I prefer the company of people I chat to in the pool....same as others prefer other rooms..... I abhor the childish accusations of any room being "cliquey"........we must have all been "new" at one time or another and people come and go from the site.... Why not go the whole hog and suggest banning all people who use the Pool because you have some people dislike the fact that we have a laugh in there!!!!
I'd like to thank everyone who took part in tonight's quiz. It was good fun and I'm going to compile a music quiz for next Friday at 10 pm. It'll be questions rather than sounds as the mic on my speakers don't work. Everybody's invited so bring yer music knowledge, It'll be from 1950's to present with one or two from earlier just to make it interesting. BTW, The final score was blokes 18, girls 12.

What a fab couple of hours Ziltoid ... thanks to both you and Des ... I think the girls did remarkably well seeing as the guys had Resonance on their team who probably answered 15 of those questions, all in all it was fab.... still dont understand why people are moaning about what fecking room its in..... !! x x x

The Terrace has temporarily been renamed as The Quiz Room and is now open for a 30 question music quiz. It's all typed questions so you don't need speakers. It's due to start at 10pm, so get there early !

all for a Monthly quiz room, certainly something different and very useful. Minor tweak by an OP to the 'welcome to room message' and occasional repeat posting being the only improvements. Was certainly a fun couple of hours, plus also 'raising the limit' on certain rooms afterwards. Well done to all concerned.
