We are kindly asked by the Ops and admin to report anyone breaking the chat rules/site aup but do you?
I kind of get slightly peed off when people whisper without asking or direct my cam but I'm not in the habit of reporting it.
I do, however, PM an Op if I feel that people are being abusive or offensive - and not just towards me.
I don't take kindly to being told I'm fat/ugly/retarded/stupid/unshaggable etc etc and I do not hesitate in reporting anyone who has the audacity to say that to me. In a real-life situation - pub, shop, street whatever - i'd knock the fecker's teeth down their throat so i'm not gonna take that sort of shite on here am I?
Does that make me a goody-goody? Chat-op arse-licker?
I believe that rules are not there to be broken but to protect us and I'm thankful for them. I don't deny I have been naughty before and I've had my wrists slapped - and that is fair and just.
I don't believe that some people should get away with flounting rules and others dont' just because there isn't an Op available at the time to deal with it instantly. especially when it's abusive behaviour. If the person gets away with it aren't they going to do it all the more to others?
Some people get really upset by the comments made in chatrooms - some of them to the point of questioning why they are even here. that disgusts me. While I think we should all try to rise above it, i certainly don't think the offender should get away with it.
What do you do? Do you report people who have been abusive to you or others? If not, why not?

So, Chat Ops ... are you over-whelmed with complaints about people abusing the chatrooms? Do you want mroe people to put in reports of such behaviour? How sick is the feeling in your tummy when you see my name in your inbox?
When I was a chat Op, I used to get a few complaints. They would be passed over to Admin/Mods as appropriate (unless I was able to deal with it myself), usually after to getting as much info as possible.
I would think that the Op's would prefer people to report such behaviour, as every incident that goes unreported just encourages others to act the same way.
And the only way to find out if I get a sick feeling in my stomach at the sight of your name in my inbox, is to be in my inbox :lol:

As Marya correctly stated - it is often the case that a member who is abusive to one person, quite frequently will be so to another. So unless they are dealt with, they will continue with inappropriate behaviour, which may upset a great deal of members over the course of time.
Personally, I am always happy to have pm's submitting complaints even when I am off line. Most of us log in several times a day, so things can be sorted out quickly and effectively.
There will be no come backs on anyone who reports another member because neither op's, nor admin ever divulge who has raised a complaint.
It's confidential, so if you have any complaints, let us know the room title, approx time and server - as well of course, as the names involved and we'll get it sorted for you in no time at all :thumbup:

I just want to add to the part in bold, if you're reading this and thinking xxxx member was a bit abusive to me the other night, but I just laughed it off/gave as good as I got, think about the next person they went on to give abuse to. Maybe they weren't as strong and ended up logging off in tears after a nasty remark. It's not just yourself you're protecting by reporting the abusive members, it's every other person in the chat rooms

I would ALWAYS suggest that incidents like this are reported. Admin and the Ops DO take action when it's reported.
Members should not just sit and suffer in silence. Everyone has the right to expect to be treated with consideration whether you are on cam or not.

i started thread about this a little while ago that got locked for some reason. i report abuse whether its to me or another person. what worries me is the people who are quiet and sly and slip through the net 
i dont frequent the chat room alot thse days coz i just got tired of it to be honest, i admire the chat ops for the work that they do.
another worry is that so many people dont seem to even be aware that they can report abuse and just put up with it.

I get a huge amount of abuse - all from single guys sadly - the females and couples tend to support me.
I have given this a LOT of thought because i thought - I'm getting all this crap of people - it must be me that's in the wrong??
I've come to the conclusion that:
people don't take kinldy to being reminded of the rules (please don't whisper, don't direct my cam etc)
they don't read profiles which results in my annoyance at having to answer the same bloody questions and them getting annoyed with me 'cos i won;t give in. Grrr it says I'm not looking for anything cos I'm not looking for ahything and no amount of your gentle persuasion "but I've got a big cock/live 5 miles away" is gonna change my mind.
They think cos i'm on cam/single female/ here that i'm up for anything and should be grateful for the attention.
They can't take rejection. I'm not nasty in my rejections - I always say very plainly what my preferences are and if they continue to go on at me, that's their choice. The other night in chat someone came in and called another member a 'fat cunt', to which the reply was along the lines of yes I am. That was her way of dealing with it but that's not my way. I reported him to admin and report anyone who is abusive to me. As always, it was dealt with well. No one should have to see it or be on the receiving end of that.
Some people are not here for swinging but to get their own pleasure through trolling or baiting people for a reaction. If we don't report them, they just go to another room and do it to someone else...

You are quite right, there are often two sides to a story but I think that sometimes it is not difficult to distinguish between harmless "banter" and downright unjustifiable abuse and anti-social behaiviour.

we used to host rooms in n/e room quite a lot ,nowadays cant really be arsed as tend to get ppl asking arguing more about quoted rules put up as a warning to ppl who have either directed or whispered some 1 ,ie week or so agon someone by accident put up there phone number so i cleared chat same night same person moaned saying was sick of rules been quoted and there was to many rules , no win situation there might of well as let that person be bombarded with phone calls but no wad not like that to happen to us, but have seen double standards where some one has complained bout being directed and maybe in jest have done the same to some one they know but to others to have been warned how does that look to them.

That is why I don't really do it anymore.....and as the room host you are being put in a position where you are not going to make everyone happy, and that tends to end up in abuse, you are damned if you do and damned if you don't......
It is suppose to be fun... and I know that being abused isn't the type of fun I need or want (no sniggering at the bad)
