I think that we should have a new button in the chatroom. A whisper button. yes i know we can already whisper etc... however we all know it is open to abuse. However a specific button that asks for permission to whisper could cut that out.
For example, if someone wanted to whisper you, they have to click on a button. You then recieve a request to say whether or not you want to allow them to whisper, then you click yes or no...
The fact they cannot send an immediate whisper will stop the "mmmmm i love your pics" or "mmm nice cam" whispers, and would perhaps enable the rooms to be managed better with less people being kicked/banned for uninvited whispers! It would also prevent people you dont want whispering you abusing you in the room so no-one else can see.

two i totally agree with you,
i also get tired of the idiots who dont get the whole hassle of uninvited whispers.
they fill the screen which means i cant follow the chat. and when i complain they can get abusive in private. th emin you get free to report them they run away.
i dont now if its ok to mention this but i liked chat years ago.
seperate window for whispers, and they to had a function section so you could set it to always allow some people to whisper you, other would get a auto reply if they tried without permission.
another advantage is the room i use the titel ends up so long by the time you state no directing or uninvited whispers, then you cant see room numbers.
the whisper button would eliminate this long title.

yup i want one but in the same respect i often use whispers to pass private information on to friends etc, so not sure wether i would ban all whispers
i like the way the two people who voted no haven't given an explination of why? i would have been interested to hear their argument... obviously voted no for no good reason lol

I like the idea of this but would like to see it rather in the form of if someone whispers you then you can click on that person to prevent the whisper again or not click on it so letting the whispering carry on.
I guess one reason ppl may vote no is thee same as a reason given in chat, eg. "Do you mind if I whisper you as i don't like to talk in the open room as "I'm not very good at it"? We're not adverse to this sort of whisper as long as if we don't answer they then don't get shitty and abusive.
We can’t understand why people can’t ask in the room if they want to whisper it’s not difficult to type it, and it’s a lot easier then talking to someone on the phone or face to face.
Allowing the first whisper to come through would be fine if it was to say they are too shy to talk in room or if it was to ask if they could whisper however we all no that more often then not that this is not the case.
Many first whispers ask if you meet single guys or ask if you are looking at the moment. People just don’t read profiles or they just try their luck any way. For example our profile says...
"We don’t meet single males... if we ever do have the inclination we would look for you." and
"Single males please do not whisper in chat room without asking as doing so will probably offend!"
Yet still we get whispers from singles without asking, and we also get whispers asking if we are looking for single men yet.
We tend to chat in the mids room which normally states in the room title no whispers and yet people still do.
Now if you ignore the first whisper you get a second one asking the same thing or get abuse, if you respond saying not to whisper you get abuse or a whisper saying "Why not I/We are genuine and none pushy" - which is actually being pushy. I must admit there are some who say sorry for whispering and move on but they are in a small minority.
We don't generally cam, but those we have spoken to who do, say the second they go on cam as a couple or single lady they are inundated with whispers. Some complimentary, some not, some to get their kit off or put on a show. Quite often these whispers prevent them from carrying on the conversations they were having in the room.
A suggestion was made for whispers to appear in a separate window, now if this is a new window for each whisper then you could have 20-30 windows open. Plus if these were pop up windows, those users with families could find a pop up coming up at the most inopportune moments.
A whisper box in the chat window would enable people to manage the whispers. It will help the shy people because it will ask people if they will whisper on their behalf. The person being whispered can manage how many whispers they have going on at any one time. There could perhaps be a block button preventing persistent offenders. A refusal button which asks the whisperer to chat in room. Because they can't whisper directly it can't be used to direct abuse at people.

probally lol i thought this would be better, but only if it was introduced that you could have a on off option, only those you give the ok to could send you a window, and initially it would only show as a request , not anything visable.
sorry im probally not being very clear, basically have a chat room thats like old chat lol
if any new options were introduced it would probally only be availabe to those who pay extra, then it would be all the ones who cant/wont pay for extras that get harrassed by the ignorants as they will know non extra members can do nothing about it.

I agree we should have a whisper box, I too come from the old days and thought the way it was set up helped a lot with abuse. We alson used to use an american chat site that had the facilities to block unwanted whispers and abusive users not only from whispering you but also from you cam. I am often on cam on my own and have been subject to all sorts of whispers some friendly and polite others aggressive and abusive. At times it has made me feel like leaving the site cause to me the site should be about enjoying the chat and having fun.

personally whispers don't bother me i just dont reply to them if i dont want them, people soon get fed up and go away if you ignor them
