So Many Rooms...

Hello!
Could some explain to me why there are so many rooms available and what they are all used for? If there's a little guide for this then I can't find it. The only guide I can find is a general help section which I don't need.
For example, I tried to have a look round the other day and it seemed like there were practically empty rooms apart from one which was full to bursting, and it also seemed like people were creating there own specialist niche rooms?
Thanks in advance

The rooms are created simply to allow members to be able to chat or cam and generally interact. The director's chair is the only regular room which permits directing of people on cam, although independent rooms can choose to be so. Most of the rooms are rooms created by members, and, as you've probably noticed, they cater to specific niche groups.
So the answer to why so many is because the other members wish to create them and do so.

There are admin appointed rooms or Lobby rooms as they are usually referred to, these are permanent fixtures, always open even if empty and are:
The Pool
The Beach Bar
The Jacuzzi
The Lounge
The Sauna
The Terrace
The Directors Chair
Looking to Play Tonight
&
The Extras Lounge
Home of The Chatroom Ops
The Pool is the reception room where you'll normally be dropped into when first logging on, however, if it reaches capacity (125) you'll automatically be placed into one of the other Lobby rooms usually in the order of the Beach Bar, Jacuzzi and down the list to the Terrace, All of these rooms are 'No Directing', reference to this can be found in the Chat-room rules. http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/chatroom/user-rules.html
The Directors Chair & Looking to Play are the only Lobby rooms that allow directing. (Directing members who are on camera etc etc)
The Extras Lounge is for members who on top of their Swingingheaven subscription have gone on to purchase 'Extras'. Extras has many added features some of which can be found in chat, such as the 'Extras Lounge', Multiple Camera Access (up to five at any one time), Larger camera boxes and as a couples account Joint Chat Access.
Home Of The Chatroom Ops is for a member to drop in when seeking advice/help re chat and where a Chat-Op will will usually call by just as soon as they see the room occupied.
Chat-Ops have a Blue Star to the right of their name in the members panel of the Chat-room and are easily spotted as they're always at the top of the member list.
Who the Chatroom Ops are can be found here

The rest of the Chatrooms are rooms created by Members, are not permanent and usually limited to 100, staying 'live' until the last member in leaves at which point it's a sort of 'lights out' and closes automatically. Some Member rooms are in the list on a regular basis, usually because they're well attended so stay live.
When in chat you're able to be in two rooms at once but only one of these rooms can be an a Lobby room and only one Lobby room can be joined at any one time but you can be in two member rooms at once and can also Create/host (keyholder) your own room at the same time.
Once a room is opened, the creator becomes the host/keyholder denoted by a green key icon to the right of their name in the members list and like Chat-Ops are found at the top of the room list, the keyholder is generally expected to keep things happy in the room and able to remove a member from the room should things get a little silly, if a keyholder wants to leave their room they can pass over the key to another. Not every room will have a keyholder as some leave without passing on the key but the room will still continue to populate and run as normal until empty.
As for the 'specialist niche' rooms mentioned, that's exactly it, each to their own hence the ability to open up your own chat-room to discuss what you want with other like-minded individuals. As this is an adult swinging site opening rooms such as 'Cake Baking' 'Embroidery' or 'Cross Stitch' probably wont be well attended (but you never know)
Occasionally in the room list you'll see a locked padlock next to a room as opposed to open Padlocks next to the Lobby rooms and most other rooms, the locked padlock denotes a private room passworded by it's creator, usual Chat rules apply to private rooms but as they're private they are 'invite only' and entry should not be attempted by trying to guess the password. Private rooms are usually where members hook up and want to show on cam to a select few without the masses being able to peek in.
As for the machinations of how the chat-rooms work functionality wise there is a Green Help button found at the top right of the chat screen, clicking it brings up a set of bubble boxes to help point you in the right direction.
Also, don't always assume that because there are no members chatting in the room that this is actually the case, members may also be in another room or in whisper but taking the initiative and chatting first will more often that not result in others chatting to you but if not simply move on to another room.
Above all have fun and plenty of it at that..
