Hi, wave
I'm in the chatroom quite often but dont tend to take the reigns so to speak, as in opening rooms etc as I'm there to chat and have a laugh.
Tonight, I've taken over a room where it was titled 'couples and females only' as the owner had left and there a bunch of us chatting in there. I was under the impression that if you open a room where it says specifically one lot of people required that those not fitting that criteria could be kicked out of that room?
If not, I'm not sure what the point of having specific request rooms are?
I was glad of the ops informing me of this and being friendly, helpful and civil about it as this new rule had obviously passed me by! redface lol kiss (which is another different point entirely about announcing new rules and people reading them regularly)
Anyway, as I'm not in this section of the forum much, this question has most likely been asked, in which case please feel free to direct me to somewhere I can ask my questions and gauge others' opinions. If not then please (within AUP and no personal digs) please feel welcome to air veiws as its something I'm entrigued as to why it happens?
Surely if it's anyone is welcome in any room then why allow specific categories to be written in the first place? dunno

Hiya Gem smile
First of all, people can't be kicked out of a room just because they don't meet the room 'criteria', eg single males from couples and females, or straight people from bi/gay rooms etc.. It's discrimination and not tolerated.
Members open up their own rooms and choose the title hoping to attract the sort of people that the title 'fits'. This works well in most cases, usually the region based rooms, because if I was looking for a meet, there would be little point me sitting in say a Scots room :)
A BDSM room might attract people who are curious about what goes on, as well as giving members who enjoy it a regular place to chat :)
It makes sense IMO to have these different rooms, it makes it easier for people to find what they are looking for ;)
If there is a problem with people who don't match a room's 'criteria', then the other option is to open a passworded room and therefore keep it 'exclusive' ;)

People open rooms to express their preference of whom they would like in there - couples wanting other couples for example - otherwise there would just be multiple general chat rooms.
At least by making it clear in a room title about who the room is aimed at, you would at least get some of the type of people you wanted to chat to in there - as well as a few others ;-)
Allowing members to open their own rooms gives more freedom of choice unlike the old mirc room where everyone was all in one room smile

Thanks for the replies. smile
It had been kind of explained in PM just now by the op that dealt with the situation and I said it answered my question so this thread might as well be pulled seeing as nobody had replied to it anyway! It kind of makes no sense to me what so ever still as swinging can be discriminatory in some form or other at some time or other as not everyone will fit everyone else's needs, wants or desires. But, thems the rules and so be it. :)
If nothing else it's alerted me to new chat rules and regs which I've not caught up on for ages anyway.

It isn't a new rule!!
Room hosts can only kick someone for breaking a site rule. Being a single male/ female or living in a certain location does not break the rules so they cannot be kicked for that.
Room names are just a guide to people, suggesting what they may find in that room.

Quote by Sgt Bilko in the guidelines to opening a room
If you open a room you must warn someone before you kick them out.
You CANNOT kick someone from a room due to the colour of their skin, their geographical location, sexual orientation, their membership status or if they are not on cam. If, for example, you want a room for Couples only, you should make this a Private room with a password, so that entry is by invite only.
