helping out new hosts biggrin

would a mod or someone experienced in hostin be kind enough to post a message like you see in the chatrooms ie no directin/whispers without askin etc in this thread so new hosts can copy/paste it and use in the rooms? :P dunno if this will be needed in the new rooms,just an idea so us newbs have a baseline to go from lol

and may i say keep up the great work mods,i know its a thankless task :thumbup:

Anyone who wishes to direct OR BE DIRECTED should move to an appropriate room or risk being removed..Uninvited whisperers will also be removed...
Thats the general one I use........
Dunno if its what your looking for but your welcome to copy it and alter it to suit your requirements... smile

I have a number of them similar to Steve's but this is just another couple of examples

Is it possible to have 'No uninvited whispers or directing unless otherwise stated in room tittle' somewhere on the chatroom log in page? I realise there is a disclaimer about reading the site rules, but people don't. The number of times I've told people that whispers aren't allowed without asking first is untrue. They then ask in a whisper, how stupid can you get??????? I've tried asking nicely, I've tried pasting the unwanted whispers in the room - for which I get abuse - I've tried ignoring them, they just keep at it till you reply or tell them to go forth and multiply. There are too many of them to take note of and they're on the whole not abusive enough to warrant fetching an op. HELP.

You can write warnings and rules all over the walls.......They never read em...
They dont even bother readingor noticing the room title so i doubt it would do much good wherever it was written.

This is the one I use:

**** This is a non directing room. If you wish to direct, or be directed whilst on cam, then please use one of the many rooms that allow directing!!! ****

This one works for me:-
look guys... no whispering without asking in the room first and getting a positive response and no directing which includes asking, suggesting, requesting or hinting at what cam users may show or display. Simple rules really.. just be respectful of the other members otherwise I WILL remove you from the room

A lot of them do. A lot of them say, well it doesn't say no whispering so it must be allowed. Would it hurt to put it on the sign in page?

It's just a thought. At least then the numpties who can't be bothered to go read the rules can't say they didn't know. And I wont feel quite so bad about getting them booted out of the room. biggrin

When they click "enter chat".. they go to a page that shows them simple rules first then a proceed button under them to get into chat :D
