On sunday i was in a chat room i was kicked out several times. When i asked who room host was they wouldnt say. When i asked why i was kicked i was just kicked again. I raised a ticket. i have discovered that the room host was someone who wanted me to cam with him and when i declined he kicked me out room. I have confronted him over this and he said "It was my room I can do what i want "
I would like to propose that either
1. People have to some how be given the priverlidge to open rooms
or
2 if they have inapproriatly hosted rooms be banned from opening rooms say for 6 months
DEBATE
its been said before and i agree that if someone hosts a room then it should be clear that they are the host.
If they leave the room the room should close.
maybe there should be a mini quiz to show you know the answers to the aup and how to behave whilst hosting a room? if you dont pass you dont get to open a room.?
xx fem xx
a little symbol to know who room host is....would be usefull.....and I think anyone found abuseing the power of room host should indeed be stoped from hosting a room..for at least 6 monthes.
As we all know there are rules and protocols to hosting a room.
http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/chatroom/user-rules.html
And the main one that applies here is,
You must not kick anyone unless a site rule is broken.
The site has tried to go along the lines of not having too many rules because we are all adults after all but sometimes we get adults acting worse than kids.
We do take every support ticket seriously and act on every one so if you are getting abused or feel that you are not getting a fair crack of the whip then do not hesitate to contact either a chat room op or send in a support ticket.
For those of you who know me, I take life not too seriously but do hate it when anyone is getting treated wrong.
The easiest way to see who the room host is, would be for everyone that opened a room to put their name in the title.. for example
"Woo's room"
But if for instance the room host was a secret bi or if they were organizing something that they didn't want plastered all over the site and didn't want anyone to know, then I guess they would be a bit shy to open a room with the title "bi meet" or something else, if everyone knew they had opened it.
If they do it with no one knowing they are the host, then they have the option to keep their secret safe.
That might be the reason why hosts name is not in title automatically or it might be that .....
It's not possible for the chat room software to add the room host yet but it might be possible in the future.
well that would work well for me - the mids room
id get the blaim for every so n so's mistakes
I agree with Midsprincess that the host of a room should have their name highlighted. That way we all know who's the room is and should they be "twats", people know not to enter their room again. No need to ban them, if no-one goes in, they can sit on their own all day!
I reckon it is a good idea to have the hosts name highlighted, for the reasons others have raised. However, I do think it will pose a problem, with what Woo said, if someone wants to set up a secret bi room, or fetish room etc but don't want to expose themselves and wanna keep discrete about them hosting the room. An idea would be to select whether u want to be shown up as being the room host, but then I think more peeps wouldn't select a "yes" to this option.
However, I understand with what u mean midsprincess. I do think that people who host a room, should show some form of resposibilty and maturity.
Some people don't realise that "no directing" isn't in the rules, and so still kick peeps for directing when "No directing" isn't in their room title.
I think some peeps can get a bit over-excited with the whole responsibilty of hosting a room and be "kick happy"....so to speak.
My conclusion is people who are aware of how to run a room in accordance with their room title and rules, are the best ones to do so

rooms. what are these rooms you talk about?

You can create your own rooms in Chat... I'd wait a bit my little cup fungus until you've won over the hearts and minds of the Forum first wink
Interesting thread midsprincess - the same happened to me a few weeks back - i.e. I kept getting kicked and nobody would own up to it. I turned out to be a bloke who I'd knocked back months ago and had decided to use his room host power to reap his revenge.. sad really. I tend to rely on rules and processes in that situation so just reported him with room name and date/time as I know the Ops and Mods act quickly if they can evidence the behaviour.
I agree though, it might be a good idea for room hosts to be flagged smile

Obviously that includes both sexes, according to your good self Brucie rolleyes
Some vanilla folks would say burn all the swingers too
Personally, I couldn't care less what sexual preference anyone has, as long as they have fun and keep it legal.

you really are a naughty boy arent ya?
were u abducted by aliens and sent back as an agitator?
Wierd, but I often see things from the other way.
By clearly highlighting the room host, it's a green light to the "friday night spoons" who seem to trawl the chatrooms at pub kick out time with the sole mission of upsetting people.
Scenario.
Muppet arrives home from pub and miracles abound, he / she logs into SH chatrooms.
Looks up and down the list of chatroom users.
Nobody with a flashing light against their user name to idenitfy them as a room host.
waahayyy let the mischief and mayhem begin.

Sorry !!!

Hey Brucie old boy should you not have been having a wonderful sexual encounter with your oh so sexy lawyer at this time ??..... rolleyes
On Sunday I was in a chatroom.. A guy made a remark, nothing to major I might add but the crap he got from it by the 'regular' room members was unbelievable. Not only did they not like what he said, but he was 'ordered' to leave the room by at last 3 members. What is all that about?? He didn't go anywhere and appologised saying he didn't mean to offend anybody but while this was going on the room owner aimed to kick him and got the wrong person where some poor bloke who hadn't even typed anything got the boot instead!!
doesnt seem like the room host had control of the room

ALWAYS

When you can validate that none of the chatroom ops ever (no need for caps here) use any of the permanent chatrooms, I will try my best to answer.
However, any official comment, as you request would not come from myself but from Admin.
