Earlier today at about 1030 i was browsing the chatrooms as usual,in server 1,i noticed one called "daughters knickers",so being curious i entered I am as broad minded as anyone, but what i found was not to my liking or to most peoples tastes on here i would imagine, besides the banter about the afore mentioned items a guy was showing off a pair of very juvenile undies on cam.
Now this made me feel quite sick inside,so I made a quite strong comment, and low and behold the room emptied and closed within minutes,I think I did the right thing this is a good site and I feel we can do without that type of thing creeping onto here.
Being curious?
You should have just reported it to a moderator.
Cannot understand why you should be shocked over things that go on in a room with that title?
Still hopefully the site owners can take action against whoever it was that opened the room.
Chat Ops deal with chatroom issues, Kenty, not Mods. how long you been here?

Dawney and Easy ring any bells? wink
For the avoidance of doubt... the Chat Ops are noted in the sticky here. You are correct, Dawnie and Easy wear both hats but any chatroom issues would be dealt with by a Chat Op not a Mod.
HTH
will you lot stop your petty bickering and face my real issue, the fact that what was being discussed was verging on paedophilic tendances

In future, if you see a room such as this then report it either by sending a PM to one of the Chat Ops in the link I posted above or to Admin direct... that way we can get the room closed, the logs checked and the person responsible dealt with.
I would have but there was no ops about, time of day i suppose, but my rant was enough to close the room.
Hi Karentvxx,
You can also use the 'Report this profile' button at the bottom of the offenders profile page too, but the most important information we need from any kind of contact are the time, date, which server and room name, plus the name of the offender(s) if any.
We keep logs for quite a while from the chat rooms, so as long as you give the information above Admin can usually find it and read what has been said.
I think in this instance the room may have closed after it was left empty as I can't see any of the ops saying they closed it. sad
Given the information you've posted here I've asked for Admin to have a trawl through the records for today and see if they can locate the logs for this room.
Hope that helps. biggrin

I'm generally around during the day even though I'm not logged on. If you send a PM then I get an email notification and generally check them fairly sharpish. Just for future reference. smile

Thankyou chat room op. wink
Sometimes I just have to ask Y?

Y what dawnie ?

Morning Karen
It wasn't aimed at you personally Karen
I was actually wondering why Kenty was making a point of ignoring the comments Easy had made when he was trying to help and made a point of thanking DG when both of them are chatroom OPs.
It really doesn't matter who helps you in this case Karen, any OP or Mod will take any complaint by PM and arrange for admin to deal with the situation, even if it is after the incident.
Please continue report issues, we rely on site members helping us out, it is really appreciated
>> Clck here for a list of chatroom OPs <<
Regards
Dawn
Ok Dawn thankyou for clearing that up,and thanks to you all for your help and advice,it is appreciated.
Thankyou again Karen xxxxxxxx

Now that would be handy !!! Being able to identify the room host rolleyes Can`t imagine why nobodies mentioned it before dunno

Offender does not necessarily equal room host. Whilst we have people opening/hosting unsavoury rooms, we also have members causing offence and contravening site rules in all sorts of rooms

Of course that is true. Most of the time it is the member and not the room host that is the problem.
But in rooms such as this, which to be honest I find pretty disgusting, IF the room host was there it would at least identify who started the room, to others who enter it. But to be frank here ( or George wink ) anyone who enters a room such as this is well..........I won't say.
I have advocated for this to happen for ages, but not my site so the powers that be have to make their own decisions...which they have.
I still think it would be a good idea for a trial period, and see how it pans out.
My advice highlighted was aimed at problems in chat in general and not about the specific problem the o/p described (or particularly about room hosts). If you look at the next paragraph I do say 'in this instance......' which is where I comment on the o/p's problem.
In this (the o/p's) case the room host was the offender and has been dealt with appropriately by admin.
Hope that clarifies the intentions behind my post and sorry for any confusion.

You`ve completely lost me now !!
So ... the room host might not be the person that opened the offending room ???
We`ve been asking for the ability to hand a room over to another host for years !! When did it happen ??
I think what they mean is that the person showing the undies might not necessarily have been the same person as was hosting the room. Although, granted, it would be a logical deduction, given the undie flashing and the room name 'daughter's undies'
I'm pleased we finally sorted it out,I didn't want to waste anyones time over nothing, and if nothing else it brought to attention another issue that could be resolved, lets face it ,if you was going to open a unsavoury room would you do so if you was going to be identified as the for all your help in this matter,I did at one point think I may have over reacted, respect to you all Karen xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Not at all.
These kinds of rooms are unacceptable to most on here, and when a room such as this is opened, it is always best that someone makes a moderator aware of it.
If they decide the room is ok, then nothing is lost.

I am fully aware of that one Dirty but.....on the rare occasion no chat op's are about people can still go to a moderator for help............yes?
Moderators I think can intervene in all aspects of the site...chat and forums...........yes?
Glad we have that one sorted, just in case some new members may be watching and feel a bit perplexed and confused. wink

Moderators can indeed contact Admin the same way we can but they don't have the ability to close down rooms or remove members from the chatroom in the same way a Chat Op can so not quite correct but close.
Glad to have helped you sort that one out since you're worrying about new members being as perplexed and confused. wink
Well you know me....anything to help. wink
At the risk of repeating Dirtygirly ......
Chat Ops deal with problems in chat in real time. That means that they can deal with problems in chat, kick and ban people as they happen. Mods cannot do this.
If people feel happy to report problems to a mod, then this is fine, but Mods cannot deal with an issue and will only pass information to admin for them to follow up.
The only exceptions to this rule are myself and Dawnie, who have access to both chat-op and mod controls.
Kentswingers777: Strangely enough those that provide assistance to the running of the site are probably best placed to know what their roles do and do not entail. Your comments aren't helping and your attempts to pass your own opinion as fact are misleading and ill-informed.

As said in your other thread, you're welcome to PM me. I'm not signed in all the time during the day but I am at my computer while at work. I do get an email notification if I receive a PM and I generally check them so if you need help in future, please feel free.

I don't know if you've done this, but if you add the Ops as friends then you can see their status from your friends page. You should also be able to message them if you/they use the site messenger.
If you don't want them as friends, you can add them to your favourites for a similar effect, but I don't think that works with the messenger. ;-)
