Take care at the well known location in been pulled twice recently in as many weeks late at night by police, conversation goes down the usual route...what are doing here late at night,on your own etc etc..ended up getting a producer both times.(make sure your cars whiter than white..any excuse for these arseholes...)and warning about a letter going to my own address telling me where I was on a certain night etc...well thanks guys, very caring..but i dont have Alzheimers..funny thing is.....they didnt seem to want to tackle the thirty odd Gypsies now descended on the site, and I suppose as a taxpayer,Ill be saddled with bill to clean up after these parasites have left....Glad to see the police have solved all proper crime tho'....Not !!!!!!
btw keep it friendly you will get further that way
I'm not sure the idea of complaining to the police is a good one, although we all know what the situation is. Strictly, if you are driving or in charge of a car, they have the right to stop you to check your docoments or issue a "producer". I know someone who was given a ticket for having a faulty light. When he pointed out that the police car also had a light out, and suggested they call it quits, the ticket was not withdrawn. He wrote a letter of complaint and subsequently got stopped about 6 times further by different PCs over the next few weeks. He complained about this but was told it was just coincidence and his bad luck that different officers had stopped him and that it would only be harassment if the same Pc had stopped him repeatedly!
I think the better approach, if asked what you are doing at a certain place is to politely avoid answering by asking if the Pcs suspect you to be committing an offence and, if so, what. Then take the producer politely on the chin.
Ther overall moral here is that which has been said many times before. We must ensure that our activities do not give any cause for complaint, even by Mr Sad Sexstarved of Surrey (sorry no insult to you good Surrey people, just finishing off the alliteration!).
With ASBOs being issued for all manner of behaviour that "the authorities" disapprove of, and more than 2 kids being unable to meet on the streets because Plod has decreed a dispersal order in the area, I do worry that ABOS could be viewed as a way of getting at us if we are too "in your face", noisy, littering etc. And Plod would love it. Hours spent in warm cars followed by interviews with nice people and hours more preparing reports, statements etc. Think how many muggers you could avoid having to tackle whilst talking to a civilised dogger instead.
So, take care, be sensible and think about those who may follow where you have been.
I trundled over to the aforementioned gypsy site last week and was quite surprised to see so many there. I certainly won't be going back to that place again in a hurry.
Note to NWC - the last time I was involved in any kind of fun there was when i met you two there!
I had stopped quite near to the site as there is a nearby car dealers. A man with an Irish accent who was walking along asked me for directions and a lift into a nearby town! Only when I went on to the site and saw the caravans did I realise he must've been a traveller!
With this particular North West location out of bounds and the closure of the spot near to Warrington last year - I really am starting to wonder if dogging is worthwhile.
It seems highly inlikely that you ever meet people on the off chance - when you do it is usually couples who are unaware of dogging etiquette and are simply looking for fun without attention. That leaves pre-arranged meets with people on this site - and the 'beauty contests' that us single males have to go through to draw attention!!
NWC - let me know if you find the holy grail of a nice quiet dogging spot where the police don't go and where single males are welcome!! Hmmm, now there's an idea for one of those Carlsgberg ads........
