Birdlip Rumours

Hi all,
I've been thinking about visiting one or two of the Birdlip sites that I have read so much about but as well as the good reviews I've also read some stuff that concerns me regarding hoody wearing hooligans mad

and police presence :cry: . Does anyone know the latest state of play?

Birdlip is a busy location - lots of single guys, occasional couples.
There has been a little more police activity (good natured police, not moving us on), as there was a group of travelers camping nearby.
I have no probs visiting the site - not too many neds / hoodies / pot smoking scallies / boy racers.

A swinging friend of mine was sitting up there during the daytime genuinely just doing some paperwork the other week and had the police telling him off and telling him to never park there again... he was a bit offended as there wasn't even anything going on!

Sounds like it may be a bit hit and miss. Probably gives the police something to do when they're bored or should be out catching criminals!!! What's the deal anyway, I could understand if there was a complaint but we're not hurting anyone confused

I think it's because there was some 'daytime' activity up there and it is a family picnic area during the day, so that's fair enough. It's also genuinely a stop-off point for travelling reps, trucks etc - so it amazes me that the police always assume the worst.

Never had any problems up there myself, apart from being pestered by the couple in the red Escort (avoid!). though I feel the presence of the travellers near the entrance may put a few people off going.
Theres been more action at the other site nearby recently.
