LOL bloody coppers. A yacht charterer mate of mine in poole, told me that he took a group of police out one time and all they wanted was for him to take them closer to the beach. They eventually landed in a small craft and started taking pictures, can you believe it!!!!
And the misconception in press and public minds that sex on the beach equals dogging..........
Look at the text of the article I posted above
We have gone as a family to Studland Naturist beach, its a much nicer beach than Swanage too, cleaner, less crowded, no fag butts in sand. We stayed near the tea hut, and didnt venture to the quieter areas such as the dunes, and the kids had a brill day and made friends with other children there.
Its a shame that its reputation has put people off, because it really is a lovely beach, and as usual the few spolit it for the rest.
It's not clear if it was the dunes or the beach. On the beach it would be just plain stupid, but it was probably in the dunes where it would only be risky. One wonders what the voyeurs were doing not keeping a lookout, surely that comes with the territory!!
Personally I like taking my clothes off but I do not think that past 40 it affords much pleasure to others. I have the benefit of an old boat and have been known to anchor off the beach just because it's private, but if someone should come past I don't have to grab for the shorts. Lots of boats anchor off there. I row ashore for a swim because it's so much warmer in the shallows. I like the place for the relaxed attitude, but find the beach a bit suffocatingly "naturist", not that many weekends made it worth the effort this year.
they broke the law, got caught in the act , by the police. what is there to argue about? they knew the risks, they made the choice. if any people think that the police are going to " let people off" when caught red handed, then they are very mis-informed. i think the moral of this post is"BE CAREFUL-DON'T GET CAUGHT!". we can debate the legality of dogging/voyouerism until we are blue in the face, it's too late and will make no difference to the unlucky people in studland who ended up convicted and fined. it would be interesting to know if they have been put on the sex offenders register or not.? any one know?
as northwest cpl said its happening in duffryn as well, they have patrols of police through the summer who walk the dunes in shorts and t shirts and the local council have made it an offence to sunbathe in the dunes to try and stop any activity taking as yet has been charged with the OFFENCE of SUNBATHING in the dunes but it would be interesting to see if it was upheld by a court of law,if in fact it was taken to court.
While naturists have used studland for over 50 years, there is no official right for them to do so.
The land itself is national trust land, bequeathed to the trust in a will.
In recent years they have been resticting naturist activity more and more, and frequent inspections take place now, by both police and trust
As for "spoiling peoples fun"
Are not "ordinary" people allowed "fun", such as walking on a beach ?
