Well, I got the joke, but only because I have heard or rather seen it before. Very visual one, imagine a giant clam, now left hand and place it in your right armpit, lay your right arm over the top of your left and grip your left shoulder, bring the 2 arms level with your face, open them and close them like a clam shell, speaking the imortal words "FANCY A F**K " etc. Hence, the mating call of the giant clam. Not half so funny once you have to explain it.
