Yes !
What else can they do....
Let's see...you're in a car park at night, there are others there as well. Is it suspicious behaviour ?
If so, they can search you (general pat-down) and your vehicle.
Have you been drinking ?
Could they construe from your behaviour that you MAY have consumed alcohol ?
You'll be breathalyzed, and they may keep the mouthpiece from the test for your dna.
They probably WON'T do anything, but your vehicle reg will be taken. The info from that will be available in any further checks.
Bottom line ?
If you have any reason why you DON'T want people to know what you do (the wife, lover, vicar or uncle) then don't do this game.
ALWAYS treat the police with respect.
