How can they say dogging is an anti-social activity? It always seemed like a very friendly activity when Ive been out, all those groups of blokes standing chatting, now what could be more social than that :giggle:
Exactly.
And since most of the activity takes place in the dark it cannot be called offensive either.....indeed, it's hard to see much at all...you have to be within a few inches to see anything. If it wasn't for the nipple a tit could be a small bum (or large one)(DD)....the lord knows what happens if the bum has a zit....
Anyway, the place in question is reached by driving a mile down a road and then down a woodland road...sorta grass and stuff....and when you see the "posse" in full attack mode when a couple show-up (like a dozen cars converging on the place from a half-dozen other locations) you had better get outa the way....I have heard tales of frost-hardened doggers going white-knuckled in fear at the approach of a dozen rampant doggers, following the call, at high speed through 6 inches of muddy sand...all these quaint cultural norms and mating calls will now be lost to posterity........the extinction of a species.......
I blame global warming !
Yes it is closing, however its unclear as to if the car park is actually closing for good or just for the duration of this coming summer, theres also some small doubt cast as to how official this all is, seeing as a sign was put up several years back saying something simular which turned out to not be official, although it did at that time have a fairly big impact on the usuage of the place, although this was back at a time when couple activity down there was much higher than it is now...
The place closing has not so much to do with dogging, although it sure does factor into it, but more the rise of boy racers and teenagers(the same ones who taunt and throw stuff at the doggers down there, open plastic bottles of coke, filled with something other than coke) increasingly using the car park most nights of the week, playing loud music on the cd systems, leaving Macdonalds rubbish behind, wheelspinning around the car park, that kind of thing, the final straw of which was them pulling down the Annoucement Board a few weeks back and the notice appearing a few days after this.
No doubt dogging is factored in, the people who live in the house have tried before to close the place and will no doubt be delighted about the news, the track leading to the car park is very bad now, full of potholes, truckers parking down there which they shouldnt be doing hasnt helped the situation, but its the anti social behaviour of the boy racers that has brought this closure on, not the behaviour of the doggers, although as stated I am sure some people will be glad to have this excuse to shut it.
One other thing, the "posse" mentioned above died off circa 2005 and is long gone, doggers have certain people down there as in any location, that they gravate towards and stand/sit around with, but the mayhem and carnage discribed really doesnt happen any more, and its a much changed place from the 02-05 years and by all accounts a better place for it, which I would hope any new couples, or indeed any couples who go semi reg or reg will atest to.
As for the future of the general Thetford area it leaves just one main place now, the one everybody will be familiar with, one other site thats hardly used and another track which is pretty ropey, yes its a undoubted blow to the area losing the best physical car park but you cant really say that its going to affect things to much aside from the guys who usually sit down there and the one couple who usually plays down the arb will have to do it somewhere else, of which there are options. Theres even a couple of plus points, less miles per night and not having to wonder whats happening down the "other end" and not having to navagate down that awful track any longer.
Shame to see it go though, would have put money on the more well known one being gated/shut first.
Edit: it is very official, the closure signs have been put up by the Forrestry Comission
Fair points well made Andrew. Hope to catch up with you soon.

well andrew said it all for me i think pretty much everything covered wink im not going to say anymore of why its closing (n one knows for sure) but us doggers have our own thoughts of why its closing but its deff better now than when the mindless few used to frequent the sites afew years ago
I went passed this place the other day but not down the track, as I got a bit further there was a Police car came passed me and turned down the track... Be careful people!
