Why do all couples seem to want friendship? Future dates?

We're to the whole sheband - meets, dogging the lot.
Most people we speak to want to meet for drink and see how it goes, then start slow. They all say they're looking to make new friends.
Is it just us that would prefer to just meet and get on with it? I'd find the drinks part a hell of a lot more uncomfortable.
And while i'm on the subject. Do people meet at v short notice. How the hell do we know if we're going to be horny next Thursday afternoon? biggrin

Personally I like to meet for a drink first, just to make sure we all get on and there is some attraction there.
If not it is a drink and then home again alone, but if it is there then it is all systems go.

I prefer to meet first and get to know someone though there have a been a couple of occasions where I've met with someone and the spark is there straight away. I'm looking more for people who I can be mates with as well as shag buddies rather than a quick shag then pants back on.
I'm sure there are lots of people who want the same as you just as there are plenty who want the same as me. Wouldn't life be boring if we all wanted the same things?

looking at the thread, i did wonder what relevance all the pub social stuff had to do with dogging? but reading through your short profile, i think i can see where you are coming from? you mention that you are new to the "scene", and would like to WATCH another couple at play, and similarly, be watched yourselves? you don't mention involvement of any kind, it might be on your agenda for the future, but for now, i'll not assume its part of the deal?
thats fine, and indeed, how we play it ourselves..we do get to watch quite often, and have indeed been watched by other couples on several occassions..never have we had to socialise with our prospective exhibitionists prior to the event though :lol:
there are many couples that are seeking the same, but as you've seen, there is also those that wish to make a social circle of swinging friends or simply to lead up to the event over a meal, chat and drink..kinda like foreplay. :lol:

personally, i wouldn't suggest you visit a dogging site on the off-chance you'll see a show..don't think we are being patronising when i say we do :lol: , its just that we are kinda used to it..the reaction of the fellas when they first cop a whiff of perfume eminating from behind them, only to reel around and be met with the sight of mrs dirty standing in their midst is often interesting :lol: some get a little assumptious, and some find it a little intimidating :lol: but more often than not, its cool..like i say, its something we've gotton used to..
then, if you try and arrange something over the internet, you encounter the factors you've described..but i will say, the social interaction isn't applicable to all couples, as many find it uneccessary or undesireable..our lovely lady dogger "serendipity" comes from the spontaneaty school too, but a while back, she had a very successfull meet with another couple off these forums, the outcome was as erotic as it was, mainly due to the pre-show social being kept to a minimum..so you aren't alone in your emotions here, not by a long call.

Some of this is caused because there are so many couples who are only interested in couples rather than lone doggers - it's blurred the line between dogging and swinging for a lot of people and the requests to meet beforehand start to come in. I've had this from couples as well but I generally say no as I personally don't understand the need to get to know someone in a pub before dogging them - it just removes the clandestine nature of dogging that makes it fun!
As Uncle Dirty said, there will always be exceptions but pre-show drinks are strictly for nights at the theatre for me! biggrin
