Bars and (vanilla) clubs in Brum

My baby sister and I are planning my other sister's hen party. The group is about 30 girls aged between 25-32. The plan is 2 nights away in Brum. I want to make sure we go to a good club, and I'd like to be able to sort it so we're on the guest list and don't have to queue (to make my sis feel all special!). She likes RnB / Hip hop music.
Does anyone have any good recommendations?
I'm also looking for somewhere good to go for drinks before the club, ideally where we can reserve an area. So, any bar suggestions would also be great!
Thank you!! :-)

Yeh! Dont go to Birmingham :lol2:
bolt
A quick Google reveals

Broad Street is where a lot of people from the chatroom go on a fairly regular basis and all report to have a good time when out...
Yes - I know that a lot of members on the site go out in Birmingham often... That's why I was hoping some people would be able to recommend a few good bars and clubs. I went to Uni in Brum, so know it reasonably well, but that was 10 years ago, so I'm a bit out of date now!!
Plenty of good bars but they tend to be expensive... Broad St is for the trendy bars, if I were to trap to one I'd use the Walkabout (oz bar)

If it were me and you were looking for a good night out, I'd consider visiting The Glee Club, ok so it's about £20ea but nuffin quite beats live comedy to get the evening started, starts usually around , finished around 11, food/drinks are possible, allocated seats also etc.

After that you could visit Nightingales, ok so it's in the gay village and primarily aimed at the gay community but it's on 3 floors, sometimes has a live act on ground floor, a chill out area, big enough to cope with your numbers and for the most part trouble free with a totally relaxed atmosphere, lots of straight people venture in and the place opens until 4am usually. It used to be a great club, lost it a little but has been bought out, revamped and has sorta got itself back on it's feet, you can hire a 'booth' for the night etc and there is a queue jump facility but not sure how it works, might require membership

The above two are less than 150yd apart.

Having been to all the bars and clubs mentioned so far I'm enjoying reading other people's views. It's so subjective! If she likes r n b etc. (not my thang but I know some girls who're into it) then I had a good r n b night a couple of years ago at Indi bar in the Arcadian centre (next to the Glee club and near Nightingales) but you'd need to check what's on that night, also the r n b room at Gatecrasher (broad street) always seems to be bumping and grinding away happily when I've been there. I went to bar risa on broad street a few weeks ago and had a good night but it wasn't r n b, and, to be perfectly honest, I was probably so merry I'd have had fun anywhere :-)

One of my socials ended up in the Bristol incarnation of Reflex.
Queue to get in
To join the 10 deep queue for the bar
Wait an hour! Next to a smurf sad that gets blue paint on you is Irish and stinks (Thought smurfs were welsh lol )
Wear lace ups cus the sticky floor will pull your slip ons off
Fight for a space to ...... stand
Ohh and if you want to fight someone go to the toilet which was what happened when we were there as there was no room to fight outside the toilet.
I renamed the place Reflux cus that was the reaction it gave me. Great company, shite venue :( Hope the other Reflux's around the country have better venues.

Yes, you can book so you don't need to wait in line to get in ;)
