following in Cheri Blair's footsteps the wanna be lawyer
she was so good she wanted 100k from a children's charity to do a speech
he's hardly the candidate the do talks on finances dunno
bit like getting tiger woods to do talks on monogamy
Quote by Kaznkev
i never understand why people object to capitalism in this charge what the market will bear,no one is forced to pay to hear them speak.
Is anyone here really saying they would turn down the money?

if people want to pay to listen to brown give a talk on finance then i proves one is born every minute
and would i charge a charity to give a talk would i fuck as like
the clues in the word charity

The point I was really making here was that GB said, as he left office, that he would not be going on the gravy train like his predecessor has.
Just goes to prove just how shallow the man is.
As for your comment about turning down the money; of course not Kaz.
what a load of total tosh...from a paper that should be simply thrown in the bin.
did you acyually read the important bit...." One report claims "...." Speculation also suggest that "........in other words they have made it up. They can't think of enough to fill the paper and so they come up with this story.....I will quote the last paragraph
A spokesman for Mr Brown said: “Gordon has, of course, had many invitations to speak from around the world and a range of institutions.
“But he is focused on his constituency work and completing his book on the financial

I am no friend or supporter of Mr Browns.....but should he in future decide to do the speech circuit ( knowing his poor talking skills, would be surprised may I add) then surely it is up to him to set a price, and then it is up to others if they wish to pay that price. If you don't want to listen to what he has to say, then don't book him...or don't go and listen to him !! Simple really...

Pity, no-one has seen him since he left office as PM and he is noticeably absent from the back benches....

Some Americans would pay to listen to a cat snore...
Have these politicians no fucking shame?
I do not think this man has anything worthwhile to say, he gave it large when times were good, but when things went badly wrong, he did not have a fucking clue.
Check the state of the country now....so much for being Chancellor...I would not trust him with a bag of sweets.
IF people are prepared to pay money to listen to him waffle, then they are obviously part of the care in the community scheme. They should be banged up like they used to be.
And those who voted for him and his crew...........................

If the cat farts they will pay double ya know. wink
Sometimes the Yanks are a barmy breed, IF Brown was to go there I hope customs do to him what they should have done to hundreds of thousands and check him out on arrival into the UK, and then deny him entry.
One less twat to have to worry about.
So there is a new activity:
Gravy-Browning.

MMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I like that one.
after a talk in Scotland Prescott is saying the labour party may be bankrupt
looks like brown did complete a round robin of poor finances
I like this quote from the BBC article:
"Lord Prescott argued that the next Labour treasurer must be able to stand up to excessive demands for money from the party's leading lights.
He said: "The treasurer has got to say to the central body, you cannot keep on spending, we haven't got it."
Pity he wasn't so vociferous when he was Deputy Prime Minister
Ah lord Prescott....the peoples champion. ffs.
He has sold his beliefs down the river, the hypocrit.
All his years in politics and he sold them all for a red gown.
He is just another one of " them ", the very people he disliked or so he said.
People like him make me sick.....class warrior? What a load of old bollox, sanctimonious git.

Amazing really, they spent all the money and even now, the same culprits are crying that we should still be spending more

Ahhhhh and Thatcher didn't make a tidy sum waffling her way round the world after she was ousted from downing street? Politicians of any colour, like anyone else have the right to make a living after they have left office whether that be in a board room, a pressure group, or on the lecture circuit. Politicians are no different from anyone else in the job market in that they use what they have acquired over the years to make a crust. Perhaps we should pay politicians a pension and forbid them to work after they have left office?

Already in place

I could be wrong but I thought the thrust of the threads was the fact that Gorden Brown said, as he left office, that he would not be going on the gravy train like his predecessor, Mr Blair has.

Ahh well me and island missed that,if it was about the hypocrisy of people then of course its a totally different thread.
Any clue when he said it blue?
I was in the UK at the time and remember him saying it but I can't now find the reference. Was it in his speech to the party faithful after he had his audience with The Queen at Buck P and before flying up to Scotland with his family?
It was certainly not on the steps of Downing Street I recall.
Isn't it ironic that the great Libore saviours of the free man, all rush to the lords/speech circuit/peerages/anything they can get there greedy mits on....Where is there Labour values now.......................
Look at the leaders of the trade unions on a fortune, dictating to others to go on strike, whilst living it up in 5* hotels, go brothers go ............
Roll on capitalism..............

Apparently the pages are twin ply, ultra soft and perforated to make them easy to rip out.
