I've not been to the place for a long time, but tomorrow (Friday) I gots to go. the rub is (this rubbing feels good mind) I gots to go on the train one way and drive yet another bloody car home for my man. He isn't well enough to drive the 400 mile round trip, currently on bedrest so it's left to muggins here to do the trip with my leedle bubbas having been packed off to their grandparents.
But what a pa-lava, 4 hours on a train (2 stops of which one is in London and a jaunt on the underground across to another station to get a connecting train to Bognor) and why are train fares so bloomin expensive? £69 one way or £70 return?
But anyway, while I'm there and after I've collected the car I'm trapping into Brighton for a few hours to hook up with a mate, I'm taking my eyepad which has a 3g connection and I know there are some Brighton or thereabouts residents on here so any suggestions as to where a couple of girls can go grab an evening meal then please place your suggestions here (or mail me) I'll be checking periodically during the day, just somewhere nice to eat, quite trendy if you please (will be mid to late evening) and maybe close to the Pier cos we want to go paddle for a few) (just so we can say we've paddled in Brighton in the summer) The hike back home in an old rickety car that doesn't have power steering or electric windows or stereo even and one which I've not driven before is going to be boring and if google maps aint playing happy tomorrow I may never be heard from again (tut tut - I know what you're thinking)
Just sent Google maps a virus..............looks like you'll be having wine and cheese with GnV in France now

Oooh.... I'll let the rozzer's know to be on the lookout! :giggle:
You could try . It's within striking distance of the pier/seafront and has a nice menu. Mind you, if you think the train fares are expensive, wait until you see how much Brighton town centre parking costs!! I reckon you should park up at your mates and get the bus in. ;)
The other option would be the Waterfront at the Marina. Parking is free there (for 4 hours) and there are loads of . It's about a 20 minute stroll from the pier, but you have to pass the nudist beach about 5 minutes away.
<< wanders off thinking "she didn't invite us"!
Dave: Well thats nice innit, be sure to remind me next time you're in my village and i'll give you one of my pet pubic lice , virus for pet, fair swap aint it.
Cubes: fankewe for that, taint me paying it's me man so 'spensive car parking is'nt a problem, neither is the eaterie and by the time i get there ( currently inbetween coventy n milton keynes on a smashey nicey virgin train) i'll be sure to be hank marvin...... if i get stuck i'll be calling on you * cough*. bet you can't wait right?
Ben: well it isn't a new bike like yours from yonder year, the car is an old c reg Ford Anglia, supposedley the first ever car my man drove blah blah blah.., yeah of course it is...anyway. its rubbish already cos it doesnt have a cigarette lighter so i wont be able to charge me pad or phone on way home, how crap is that.
Hi toos, I suspect I'm late with this one, but I was just going to echo what cubes said about the marina, free parking, choice of eateries including a cafe rouge, which is always a reasonable standard.
Anyway I hope you managed to enjoy your visit in spite of the drive at the end of it.

Well Brighton was miserable weather wise, wet n windy, did a very quick dip of our toes just cos, I'd forgot the beach is stones, went on the pier and took a pic of a sign offering 4 donuts for ..there are donuts and there are donuts but for 4? er...I don't think so. Went up a little from the pier into a small pub called the Mucky Duck *laughing* it was a bit camp but we had fun chatting....and for eats we went a bit further up t'hill to a Thai eaterie which was dire re the food (and the prices) ( I just should of listened to Meester Cubes) and that was it really. It hardly stopped raining since i stepped off the train in Bognor to the time I got back home at around Highlight of the day was getting to drive the car back up, was great fun if not a little noisy inside.
I've booked a night in wiv me mate for late October, so next time we'll hit the Marina part, and play safe with Cafe Rouge, their Lobster & Crab cakes duz it for me and if there is a late club somewhere we'll do that as well.
