Well, it's only going to be "looked at".
It was only ever part of the "dredge all the info about everyone and store it" idea about government.
Like the massive child database....which will also continue in another form.
The operative phrase here is that it was/is the state that started all the crap, and the state still runs the government (not the other way around).
I'm with KaznKev on this one.
I have a CRB for the Scout Association, one for Duke of Edinburgh Award and one for Church. However, when my daughters school wanted help I couldn't do anything until i had ANOTHER CRB form.
Explain how that made the kids safer.
True, I didn't pay for it, but someone did somewhere. And knowing the bureaucracy involved, I bet it wasn't cheap. (all that photo-copying . . .)
How is this for a radical suggestion, why you take the current CRB form and make it that each person only needs one regardless of how many different organisations they are involved with.
Ah sorry, talking sense there for a moment, I'll get my coat . . .
Because the gap between the first CRB check and the new job may mask a whole bag of dung...
Most CRB checks are done through "umbrella" organisation (councils/large companies) who keep the info to re-sell for another check.....with updates !
The enhanced CRB is for children and vulnerable adults. Enhanced attracts a whole load of info that is not revealed to the applicant.
The Vetting and Safeguarding thing is to do with volunteers mainly, not employment related directly.
