That some one has died, then yes it's a loss of life though all life is finite. However news that former Prime Minister Baroness Thatcher has died at 87 following a stroke, believe some will celebrate more than others.
This countries greatest ever PM without a shadow of a doubt. She will be only the second PM in British history to be given a full State funeral I believe, the other being Winston Churchill. Too much to take in at this time as I am personally shocked and gutted on the hearing of her death. RIP Maggie..........politics was never the same after you stepped down anyway.
Always sad to see anyone go who mattered so much to this country. Whilst I didn't agree with many of her governments policies I still think she was a good Prime Minister.

She asked not to be given a state funeral and will not be given one. She will receive a ceremonial funeral. The essential difference is that she will not lay in state being peered at by passing tourists.

Ah right thanks for that Trev. They were discussing the so called State funeral this morning, but that is obviously not going to happen. Apparently it will be like the Queen Mother's funeral. That is still a fantastic accolade though.

There is an argument to be made that the current financial crisis stems largely from the Reagan-Thatcher era that massively deregulated the financial markets, and our current housing benefit bill that everyone's so up in arms about stems from the sale of social housing, the proceeds of which were prevented from being reinvested in stock to replace it forcing tenants in to private sector properties owned by rapacious landlords. Brilliant move Thatch, just brilliant. I don't care if she's dead or alive. I am just extremly grateful she's not PM still as she made mine and my childrens life dreadful (the Poll Tax) .... if it hadn't been for my parents finacial help then my children wouldn't have been fed and kept warm let alone have clothes ! Hopefully her funeral will be paid for by her family and not my taxes !
In my view she did OK in the early years of her Premiership, but after re-election seemed to become more of a dictator and had to have her own way. Power corrupts etc. Like the idea of her funeral being privatised tho !!! Esp. if it goes to the lowest tender. Can just see the wheels falling off the funeral carriage then and the security should be by the same company that did(n't) provide security for the Olympics !! Tony Blair gave a glowing reference to her today, and I actually take my hat off to him that he of all people realised her greatness. On winning her third election, she got more votes than she did on her first victory after eight years in office. Now that is an achievement.
