So the Vuelta a Espana is due to set off tomorrow, the final grand tour of the pro cycling season.
Chris Froome, according to his twitter page, took a tumble from his bike (yet again) while checking out the route for the opening team time trial. He states quite clearly that he is uninjured, but to fans and punters looking to support him this is hardly encouraging.
The race route seems tailored to suit him, with two individual time trials on fast, rather than mountainous courses. Froome will take upwards of 2 minutes advantage on his main competitors for the overall victory on the time trials. (providing he can stay upright)
