Now I know this is in the Daily Wail, but on a serious note this cannot be about to happen.............can it?
A massive ammount of Americans would be opposed to this, certainly so close to ground zero, where Muslim fanatics murdered nearly 3000 people.
IF this did go ahead and I for one think it will not, but if it did....has Obama lost the plot, or is he doing what he believes is right, or is he trying to appease the Muslims throughout the world?
How would the world see America? Would they see it as weak or coming to terms with their loss?
I for one think it would be very insensitive to have a Mosque so close to what has become a symbol of Americas past....a worse atrocity than Pearl Harbour,and will always be remembered as the day America stood still, as did the world on that horrific day.
The blackest day in Americas history maybe?
Well they aint stopped doing lots n lots of business with the saudis, which is where I believe Osama and most of the terrorists come from. That doesn't seem to cause much outrage in the US or elsewhere.
So why would this matter?

Not all those that died in the world trade centre were white christian Americans....it is typical of the American media to ignore this and insist only white christian American memorials should be allowed
By American media I am of course referring to the reactionary right wing likes of fox news...I am sure there are more reasonable voices in their media...it is a shame we rarely hear them

Typical Daily Hate only reporting what it deems to be relevant and not the whole story. I saw this mentioned on TV last week and the BBC report said that there has been a mosque on that site for years. Long before 9/11. The building work is to rebuild/renovate the existing mosque not to build a brand new one.
20 years ago it was "reds under the bed" now it's muslims = terrorists. The Daily Hate is no stranger to scare-mongering.
We do not have threads or newspaper articles about catholic churches being built or renovated next to primary schools in the light of the church child abuse scandals. Indeed I don't think I have seen any articles pointing out that members of this religious institution are still responsible for the governance of many primary schools in the UK.
