This is an interesting article (i know it wasnt just london that was affected - manchester was as well)...
2 years after the riots and nothing has been done shocking....the goverment needs to look at why this is happening...
can they do anything to change this...is it a complete society issue.....
(is also wondering if this is current enough)
Loads of things have been done, but Londoners expect everything and all in one day, what about the victims in Birmingham, Wolverhampton and the Northern Cities ?
London has had a massive investment of over 10 Billion for the Olympics, it may not say "helping the riot victims" on the stamp but if it hasn't helped the job and financial situation in London then Londoners don't deserve help because part of that repair is self help, you cannot just sit back and expect others to correct the situation whereby people think it right to burn, steal and destroy.
What was done for the victims of Lockerbie, Hyslum, Aberfhan ?
For your post to get support you need to think about all victims in the UK not just a select few.
no..wasn't just London.....but things are not moving fast enough anywhere. The main issue here is the disillusioned youth. Youth unemployment is so high, and there prospects do low, that you can see why some, turn to crime. Also the Police do have a case to answer. We keep hearing that in over 90% of Stop and Search cases nothing was found, and the person was allowed to move on. If you were that person that is stopped and searched again and again....you to may feel resentful towards society.
