Having just watched an advert for this upcomming series on BBC3, this just seems completely 'wrong'.
I am not against disability (we have a family member who is wheelchair bound) but this new series seems to be a 'TV step-to-far'
What do you folks think?
Depends how it is done, provided it is done correctly I can see no difference between that and the paralympic's
Well from what they're showing it looks like a cross between Strictly Come Dancing and that Can you dance thingy - so the public votes for the best looking wheelchair, buckeled wheel, some may even vote for a good dance!!
Paralympics - no problem, I enjoy watching them as well and the shere skills of those atheletes. But voting....... leaves a bad taste here. The words 'crass' & 'humiliating' spring realily to mind. dunno
Easy answer is don't watch and don't vote, on any 'reality' show. only then will they stop transmitting this tedious shite and maybe start making some decent programmes, increasing their viewing figures and in the case of commercial TV, the revenue gained from adverts.....so they have more money to make decent programmes. fook me, with logic like that i should get a promotion to head of ITV :lol2:

I haven't see the Advert - I used to attend wheelchair dancing with friends who had a disability (I watched/supported) and they loved it.
I have mixed emotions about a tv programme. One part of me thinks that programme makers will make money out of whatever they can. Other part of me believes that people with a disability should be on tv - and its good to see more and more actors/actresses with forms of disabilities on television recently.
