The Old Grey Whistle test version
A true freedom fighter that proves violence is not the answer.
Doesn't this dispel the myth then that religion causes all the trouble?

One man cannot maketh a blind bit of difference.
I know of him, but I know nothing of what he has done in his life to be honest.
Not something I have ever been remotely interested in.
I think you're wrong on that one Kenty, one man can make a difference. How big that difference is depends on the man (or woman).

Maybe you should edcuate yourself and find out that one person can make a difference it all depends what the difference is and what their motives are and how much you believe in it yourself.
If memory serves, Tutu made a difference to Apartheid without resorting to terrorism whereas Nissan Maindealer lead the ANC, which was the sworn enemy of the SA State at the time.

That is because of state of mind, I believe he never saw the white man as a threat but was more focused on the unjust balance that was going on. His belief in god kept him focused, and who are we to say that is wrong. I am a non believer but if believing is a focus to guide you to do a good for many without violence then I believe in any focus.

Sorry Vamps....that sounds a contradiction of terms.
Ok, what I meant was that some men have made more of a difference than others. But the point remains, one man can make a difference.
Yes but can one man make a difference to the world, is what I would have thought was more to the point.
Not many have...certainly not Mr Tutu.
What a silly name anyways. lol

The world is a big place, and I am sure to tactle to make a difference to it all for the good noboby could achieve that. so you knowning not many have, means you must know some that have. Please edcuate me and tell me who?

Always good to educate people. Remember though Minxy that people you bet are bound not to agree with these people, simply because it is me that has said these people have made a difference to the world.

I could be here all day Minxy, but there are hundreds of people who have made a difference to mankind as a whole, in one way or another.
Oh btw.....it is Educate Minxy. wink

Did you know Martin Luther King received the Noble peace prize in 1964?
An award that you said was “

I think the Nobel prize is the biggest load of bollox, year after year.
Said in another thread.
Just because they might have got it wrong once nobody is allowed mistakes?
It devalues the efforts of people in the past too, for work they have achieved.
If you found out more about the work Desmond Tutu has done over the years it is not dissimilar to what Martin Luther King achieved be if different countries.
So the fact you dismissed one and praised another I think is showing how misinformed you can be sometimes.

I have really missed your taking things out of context Minxy, whilst you have been on yet another flounce! lol
IF you would have done your homework a bit better, you would have seen that another great man I said Flemming was also a Nobel Prize winner. So that is two out of the four links, and seeing as it was not around when Jesus was born, you can really say two out of three.....did you not think I had noticed that Minxy?banghead
I was more talking about recent winners, but like everything on here you have to be so precise in what you say, and how you say it!
I guess by not arguing the point of the people I gave as examples, you think they were men that changed mankind?
If you search there are plenty of men that have changed the way we do things and see things, in the world.
Not many women I can think of though....bolt
Hold on what about Florrie...she was good for a few bandages eh? :giggle:
Simply for the record it is obvious that you can be a great man and win the Nobel prize, and you can also be a tosser who has done nothing, and win it. That to me devalues it for the greats who have won it.....but for me it is still bollocks.
A great man is a great man, and you do not have to be a prize winner to achieve greatness. Fellow man will judge those on their tasks towards fellow man themselves, and make their own judgments.

I don't flounce anywhere near as much as you rant just for the sake of it :P
The problem is when you rant it is hard to make sense of your points, when you make your point at times I agree and so would others I bet.
When you rant there seems no logic, so as I said before, I am just clarifing some of your unlogical rants into a logalical answers then I can either agree or beg to differ
BTW I did only say sometimes I agree, so don't get to excited.
I bet you are so pleased I am back
Doing my head in already. lol
No in all honesty I am glad you are back.....you bring something extra to the forums.....rubbish.
No I am glad you are back making my life an eternal misery, but alas so does my ex wife. wink
You see it as a rant only because you do not understand the logic to start with, then you ask me to clarify things, which I do and then things become clearer to you.
Will you last a month before another flounce I ask myself? :giggle::giggle:
But on rare occasions.....you do make me laugh.blink

In Edit: but then would have told me I couldn't claim them back for Tax or VAT pmsl
mmm. tutu was never shut up by the state, arrested or detained, never made an outlaw or tortured. had freedom of travel. only ever preached non violence to the africans in the midst of horrific violence of the apartied state. mmmm ?
i remember the big public meeting in the barbican centre when the lancaster house talks were taking place and joshua nkomo said..."the white man came to africa and he had the bible and we had the land.....big pause....now he's got the land and we've got the bible"
mmmmmmmm i wonder ?
