I believe that your "day in court" be it as a witness or as a defendant is the day when you can "face your accusers"
Where this part of religious garment required by your religion such as Orthodox Jews, Sikhs etc then I would support her, but there is no requirement for a Muslim to wear this in order to be a Muslim, some do, some don't.
If I took my partner to a Country where the law said you had to wear the veil and burka I would abide by the laws of that Country (though I may choose not to go as the alternative) born here, emigrate here, the laws of this Country should be respected by everyone.
If I go to a Bank, Building Society, Post Office etc I am not permitted to enter wearing a motorcycle crash helmet or full balaclava for obvious security reasons.
How do we know that the person in the court is the the person that should be there, how do we validate Identity Cards, driving licences, Passports.
How can Asda sell cigarettes to someone if they cannot estimate their age, do they have to ask every Muslim wearing the full outfit to produce ID, if they did this would they be accused of picking on them for doing so ?
