Wow, if an issue over a B&B is enough to swing your vote then I dread to think what Labour would have to do to actually lose your support. Let's see what they have achieved...
£100 billion pounds raided from private pension funds
A £1,500 billion debt that nobody has the faintest clue how to pay off or when it will be done
An annual deficit so large that the yearly interest payment just to service it is greater than the total defence budget.
Lying about Private Finance Initiatives - they have been erased from the books but still have to be paid
Selling gold at rock-bottom price, but also being stupid enough to pre-announce the sale.
Huge amounts of money pumped into the NHS and education without any thought as to measuring if it's been value for money
Taking us into illegal wars, and then lying about the resources the army were given
The blood of our soldiers and countless Iraqi and Afghan civilians on our collective hands and consciences
Unfettered immigration, we have no idea how many are here or what they get up to
I could go on and on but it's too depressing. How anyone can support Brown/Mandelslime/Balls is just beyond me when based on their 13 year performance. Read their manifesto and see what they are going to do differently - it won't take long.
Dean Im glad the Tory's let their slip show although it breaks my heart that our society is even having these attacks on minorities.
Whenever I need a reminder of what the Torys did for us I look at what's left of the west mids manufacturing industry when I go to chams.
Thanks away.. our postings must have crossed.
Beat me to it Max...
I was about to post similar references.
She's a bit lightweight isn't she? Not far of being a "silly little girl" who needs to grow up and I doubt that anyone will take her seriously.
Perhaps her new girlfriend is a downright lefty but she'll soon move on to more liberal views later in the campaign
Don't count yer chickens kent...
The Liberals could still form a Government yet..... perish the thought *shudders*
But you're not considering the poor employer. Forced to "offshore" his/her industry because of unreasonable employee demands (wages).
He/She then has to put-up with higher profits, and higher taxes on same.
But the point is being missed. None of the parties gives a monkeys fart about anyone except themselves.
Tweeky, you claim not to be affected and all that matters is the money in your pocket so please answer yes or no to the following questions:
Do you pay council tax?
Do you pay income tax?
Do you pay National Insurance?
Do you have a private pension plan?
Do you drive a car?
Do you have any savings?
Do you have children?
If the answer to any of these is yes then you have been directly affected by this "Government's" policies but you don't seem to realise or acknowledge it.
With regards to your rebuilt secondary school, do you know where the money came from, how was the contract for the rebuild won and aren't you concerned at all that the PFI debt doesn't appear on the balance sheets meaning future generations will have to pick up the tab? And that's a tab that nobody knows the size of and we are hamstringing future generations to pay for the bills of today. Of course schools needed updating but just throwing money at the problem without bothering to measure if value has been achieved is economics of the inept. Or New Labour.
Why is there an assumption that the left will mourn the passing of this government??
I for one will be glad to see the back of them....though sorry to see the tories back in power (if it happens).A heavy electoral defeat will hopefully push the labour party back to the left and give the working classes a real alternative to rule by and for the I'm honest though I suspect they will move further right to try and regain the selfish vote
All I know is that when a General Election comes around they start to promise all kinds of bollox, that in reality they have on many occasions, no intention of carrying them out. It is purely to CON people into voting for them, and that is all the parties.
I believe that any of their Manifestos should be legally binding as that is what people are voting on.;....their policies......apparently.
This B and b thing is just everyone jumping on the bandwagon. I still say this woman was right as it was her house she was letting them into, and on that basis I believe she was right to hold onto her religious beliefs IF that was the genuine reason.
Away from all that...........30% interest rates under the Tories? Did I miss something there then? As far as I remember they went up to either 15% or just a tad under that figure. I should know as was bloody well paying for my mortgage then.
lol........right.....I see I must be the one with rose tinted glasses one...
I must have been mistaken with seeing the homophobic bigoted views then from the Tory Offical. I must have been deaf when hearing (as listed in the indepenat paper link above)...Mr cameron on Radio 5, said he could see nothing wrong in what Mr Grayling had said.
Or maybe for more and more people, the mist is clearing, and the true colours are starting to show through..
You are absolutely right Dean. It seems to me to be very much a case of "I'm not homophobic but I do think people should be made to feel uncomfortable if they don't share my sexual orientation or preferences". A vote for the Torys, no matter how much you hate Noo Labor is never gonna be a vote for tolerance and acceptance.
What always baffles me is that a lot of folk seem to be able to be swingers, attend sex clubs etc and also endorse discrimination against minorities of all sorts.
Beggars belief really.
Check out the Green party web site, they are about as close to a peoples party as we have and are gonna win a seat or two so some folks votes can make a difference.
