but Chris Grayling is a bloke and he hasn't left the party
Which paper are you reading? The Labour Tribune dunno
Or did I miss something along the way?

I think he means that IF Mr Cameroon had disagreed with Mr Graythings viewpoint he would have either slung him out of the party or stated his disagreement.
Neither happened.

for your information MAX777.......Mr Cameron was asked if he agreed with it.....he answer was he fully endorsed the views !!!! Thats why the lady concerned.....left the party......yes i do bother to read the papers and listen to the radio....now wheres the propoganda in that.
Even if Mr Cameron had not 100% endorsed the statement....do you not think you would throw someone out of the party for such downright disgusting bigoted, narrow minded views !! Or perhaps you agree as well ??

No, I don't agree with Grayling, he's an idiot...but show me the proof of what you claim!

Anastasia Beaumont-Bott, who as well a s being a lady was leader of the Tory LGBT campaign has left the Tory Party and told people to vote Labour over Tory homophobic attitudes.
Wow, if an issue over a B&B is enough to swing your vote then I dread to think what Labour would have to do to actually lose your support. Let's see what they have achieved...
£100 billion pounds raided from private pension funds
A £1,500 billion debt that nobody has the faintest clue how to pay off or when it will be done
An annual deficit so large that the yearly interest payment just to service it is greater than the total defence budget.
Lying about Private Finance Initiatives - they have been erased from the books but still have to be paid
Selling gold at rock-bottom price, but also being stupid enough to pre-announce the sale.
Huge amounts of money pumped into the NHS and education without any thought as to measuring if it's been value for money
Taking us into illegal wars, and then lying about the resources the army were given
The blood of our soldiers and countless Iraqi and Afghan civilians on our collective hands and consciences
Unfettered immigration, we have no idea how many are here or what they get up to
I could go on and on but it's too depressing. How anyone can support Brown/Mandelslime/Balls is just beyond me when based on their 13 year performance. Read their manifesto and see what they are going to do differently - it won't take long.

well....life long labour suppporter..but do feel a little let down of recent years...and must admit i had become a floating voter..until this week. Mr Cameron reminded me what bigoted views lie beneath the tory polished exterior. He said he agreed that landlords of hotels and B&B's should have the right to refuse and ban gay couples from their establishment. FFS..this this the 21st century....does it matter if a person is Gay or Straight..if stoping in a hotel or bed and breakfast. Its a bed...people sleep in it..does it matter if they are male...female or mixed. the Tory spokesperson for gay rights had duly resigned ..and urged all gay conservatives to vote Labour as she will do. She said she feels disgusted and let down by her party.
Well done and thank you Mr Cameron....you have made my mind up for me.....and I'm sure alienated yourself from a large majority vote..just to try and keep your right wing happy.

Dean can defend himself i'm sure, but proof that if you read the whole thread you get to see people's arguments and views.
The fact Cameron has allowed the resignation (of the lady) without comment is deafening in it's silence

Dean Im glad the Tory's let their slip show although it breaks my heart that our society is even having these attacks on minorities.
Whenever I need a reminder of what the Torys did for us I look at what's left of the west mids manufacturing industry when I go to chams.

I believe that the issue of the B&B has been debated at length previously in this forum. The owners of the B&B claimed to be devout Christians and that homosexuality is at odds with their Christian beliefs. Not knowing the couple, I have no idea if that is true or if they are just homophobic. Grayling was saying that he had some sympathy for their position. He certainly never said hotel owners should be able to ban gays from their hotels and neither ( to my knowledge) has Cameron. It would be front page news otherwise.
As shadow home secretary, Grayling should have known better and has since apologised, but it's an interesting concept that no public rebuke constitutes 100% endorsement. I must remember to apply that across the whole political spectrum in future.
If you look at the link below, it would suggest that the Tories are no more or no less homophobic
than the Labour party.

Oh and btw, the "lady" in question left the Tory party 2 years ago but as I said earlier, why allow the facts to get in the way of propaganda.
Thanks away.. our postings must have crossed.
Beat me to it Max...
I was about to post similar references.
She's a bit lightweight isn't she? Not far of being a "silly little girl" who needs to grow up and I doubt that anyone will take her seriously.
Perhaps her new girlfriend is a downright lefty but she'll soon move on to more liberal views later in the campaign
Oh I do love a good debate about politics. lol
I am going to throw a big party when this useless left wing excuse for a Government is beaten in the polls.
Which will go to prove that the country is sick and tired of all the new laws and the taxes sneakily they have given us.
I wonder what the most important issue is to individual people as a percentage.
NHS
Taxes
Human rights issues
Immigration
The Welfare system
Or nothing in particular?
There are a few on my list, all of which have been ignored by this useless Government.
I have my pen at the ready and I expect the lefties to start mourning from the 7th May.
Oh I will be rubbing my hands in glee. wink
Don't count yer chickens kent...
The Liberals could still form a Government yet..... perish the thought *shudders*

Problem is minus the immigration issue none of those really has an effect on me or mine on a daily basis what so ever. I vote on issues directly effecting my family. Also with ref to money in Education I am in a position to know about education finances and the influence the government has put in place and from what I have seen schools and budgets run well where they are managed well by the schools in question. As for other policys are you suggesting rebuilding every secondary school and half of all primary schools is a bad idea? Maybe we should just leave them in dilapidated old asbestos traps with inadequate and expensive heating and maintenance. My local secondary the one I went to has been rebuilt with state of the art equipment an attached public use sports facility and swimming pool all of which makes money for the school. Failing to see the problem with this. Also our local primary's now have attached children's centres which has just reminded me we now get free nursery places for 3 year olds with an extension free hours still due.
Its quite funny but the more people write in this thread about distant issues having no effect on me daily basis what so ever the more I am reminded about everything that is in my community that was not there under the torys

Ive worked this out previously and I take far more in Tax credits, family bennefit, subsidized nursery places etc than I pay in tax and NI

money in my pocket
But you're not considering the poor employer. Forced to "offshore" his/her industry because of unreasonable employee demands (wages).
He/She then has to put-up with higher profits, and higher taxes on same.
But the point is being missed. None of the parties gives a monkeys fart about anyone except themselves.
Tweeky, you claim not to be affected and all that matters is the money in your pocket so please answer yes or no to the following questions:
Do you pay council tax?
Do you pay income tax?
Do you pay National Insurance?
Do you have a private pension plan?
Do you drive a car?
Do you have any savings?
Do you have children?
If the answer to any of these is yes then you have been directly affected by this "Government's" policies but you don't seem to realise or acknowledge it.
With regards to your rebuilt secondary school, do you know where the money came from, how was the contract for the rebuild won and aren't you concerned at all that the PFI debt doesn't appear on the balance sheets meaning future generations will have to pick up the tab? And that's a tab that nobody knows the size of and we are hamstringing future generations to pay for the bills of today. Of course schools needed updating but just throwing money at the problem without bothering to measure if value has been achieved is economics of the inept. Or New Labour.
Why is there an assumption that the left will mourn the passing of this government??
I for one will be glad to see the back of them....though sorry to see the tories back in power (if it happens).A heavy electoral defeat will hopefully push the labour party back to the left and give the working classes a real alternative to rule by and for the I'm honest though I suspect they will move further right to try and regain the selfish vote

Exactly. The only thing that is remotely Labour in New Labour is their stolen name. New Tory would have been honest, but honesty would be going against the grain for Blair, Brown and their champagne-'labour' henchmen.

Well said that man!
I hadn't thought of that at all.

there you go..as requested...front page news link,,,on Thursday 8th April.

As I say....I am just surprised that such bigoted views can stil be held in this the 21st century. Just reminds me...as i say what the Tory's were all about !!

Tell me just what that link proves? She left the the Tory party 2 YEARS AGO, in acrimonious circumstances. She has not resigned from the Tory party over the B&B affair.

There was not one jot of truth in your opening post........similar to a claim you made a while ago that interest rates reached 30% under the Tories. Seems to me the views that are bigoted are yours!

not one truth eh....
so she left the party over Bigoted Homophobic views...Oh I see I must have been lying
She told people to vote labour......Oh I must have been lying.
Mr cameroon has endorced Graylings bigoted views...oh I must be lying
there again..maybe we should be surprised by Me Cameron's stance.....seeing as he this has always been his view

Fact is this is 21st century......I agree with equal rights no matter what colour, creed, or sexual persuasion......Seems Tory party don't.
All I know is that when a General Election comes around they start to promise all kinds of bollox, that in reality they have on many occasions, no intention of carrying them out. It is purely to CON people into voting for them, and that is all the parties.
I believe that any of their Manifestos should be legally binding as that is what people are voting on.;....their policies......apparently.
This B and b thing is just everyone jumping on the bandwagon. I still say this woman was right as it was her house she was letting them into, and on that basis I believe she was right to hold onto her religious beliefs IF that was the genuine reason.
Away from all that...........30% interest rates under the Tories? Did I miss something there then? As far as I remember they went up to either 15% or just a tad under that figure. I should know as was bloody well paying for my mortgage then.

Your original claim was that Cameron said " he agreed that landlords of hotels and B&B's should have the right to refuse and ban gay couples from their establishment" I have asked you to provide proof of this claim......I'm still waiting! You still haven't published any proof of your claim that Cameron has endorsed Graylings views.
Your original claim also, was that Beaumont-Bott had left the Tory over Cameron's supposed views on the B&B issue...this has been proved to be totally without foundation as she left the party 2 years before the issue arose.
Seems to me that you are believing what you want to believe, irrespective of the truth.
lol........right.....I see I must be the one with rose tinted glasses one...
I must have been mistaken with seeing the homophobic bigoted views then from the Tory Offical. I must have been deaf when hearing (as listed in the indepenat paper link above)...Mr cameron on Radio 5, said he could see nothing wrong in what Mr Grayling had said.
Or maybe for more and more people, the mist is clearing, and the true colours are starting to show through..

Thanks for asking....
Yep.......Been back at work 2 weeks now.....There is work out there if you look in the right places :-)
You are absolutely right Dean. It seems to me to be very much a case of "I'm not homophobic but I do think people should be made to feel uncomfortable if they don't share my sexual orientation or preferences". A vote for the Torys, no matter how much you hate Noo Labor is never gonna be a vote for tolerance and acceptance.
What always baffles me is that a lot of folk seem to be able to be swingers, attend sex clubs etc and also endorse discrimination against minorities of all sorts.
Beggars belief really.
Check out the Green party web site, they are about as close to a peoples party as we have and are gonna win a seat or two so some folks votes can make a difference.
