There are opinions and there are rules ,sometimes one has to follow the rules whilst not agreeing with 's society not hypocrisy
erm, "give me the right to print a nations money and i care not what laws it makes" aryon rothschild ! the politicians are in the bankers pockets and have been in this country since the end of the civil war 350 years ago when the economy was changed from feudalism to capitalism !
If we all hate capitalism why is it that world wide we sign up to it? When I say all I mean it in the widest sense.
I feel that we are here going on about governement and the banks but come the election next year I have a real instinct that it will either be a hung parliament or even a conservative marginal win.
In my 20's I was really into politics and just believed that every person has the right to a life which allowed them to work, be educated, have good health and well being. I still believe that but I do not believe that capitalism gives you the values and standards that allow this to be a reality.
We have created a world where welfare is 'normal', poverty, if not acceptable, is still an international issue, war is and life is not valued.
The MP's are puppets of the manderins of Whitehall and their process driven short term strategies that keep them employed. I dont have any beef with MP's - someone has to represent the country but I do have a problem with all the quangos and non elected bodies that rule invisibly behind the scenes.
Banks well we choose to use the system of banking we have and as a society we dont really get off our backsides very often and stampede down to London or to a local meeting to shout our views. Maybe we should
Oh and come the revolution - I gave up that idea when I found the value of hair tonges rolleyes
As for expenses MP's are the tip of the iceberg in terms of public money being wasted on expenses ......

I agree.. just ask why Council Tax has increased so much over the past 10 years or so...
Local Councillors used to do it for the sake of their community; I somehow doubt that is the motive these days. Some seem to be able to make a "career" out of it

Actually, it is very much the other way around, the Civil Service has become increasingly politicised under this government. The MPs are the puppets of the various political party "machines".
