This one was touched on today on radio 2. Was this comment a justifiable political put down or was she just being plain rude, I feel the latter.
Deputy Labour leader Harriet Harman has apologised for branding Chief Treasury Secretary Danny Alexander a "ginger rodent".
I agree she was just plain rude, especially as she has held the position of Minister of Women and Equality
There are more sophisticated ways of using language to make a point, best illustrated by Anne Widdecombe who famously described Michael Howard of having "something of the night" about him. This was a cheap shot by Harriet Harman and has backfired on her.
more than rude, it was just plain stupidity and the almost immediate response by Danny Alexander is really chuckling...

How can anyone take this joke of an Opposition seriously?

And who can take the CONdem government seriously, neither of them was even elected properly lol
So then, no change there from the Brown years at Number 10? Is that what you are saying?
In this case, there was an election; an alliance of properly elected MP's was formed. The last Government resigned (eventually) and Her Majesty acted on the advice of the outgoing PM to invite DC to form a Government.
Where is the fault in that? Is it unconstitutional and is DC a squatter in Downing Street?
Please explain your viewpoint because I'm struggling to understand what you are implying.

Yeah 'squatter in Downing Street' sounds about right, thanks for that one good quote !
I think left leaning Liberal Democrat voters might take issue with your comment,LibDem's should enjoy their 15 mins of fame, don't think their voters are too impressed, certainly down this neck of the woods anyway wink

Well takes one to know one, that's for sure. why can't you just agree to disagree ? Instead you throw your toys out of your pram, never mind wink
Well, I think you've answered two of your own threads quite well to be honest - the one about legitimacy of the ConDem Alliance Government and Vodaphone (et al) now rolled into one without the assistance of a helpful Mod.
On the one hand, you are saying that the ConDem Alliance is illegitimate - so therefore you would subscribe to the point of view that you should not be paying them taxes, I presume, and perhaps this is maybe the reason - if one is called for - why Vodaphone have refused to pay HMRC any money.
Hook, line sinker comes to mind and I'm off to my bed now for more interesting entertainment.
Bon nuit à tous.

Just naturally assumed 2 things
1, all politicians have thick skins
2, all politicians lie
