Is this the start of the end for the Royal Mail.
We all know more comminication now goes via , texts, or social network sites.
But 60p to post a letter, does seem very high. I honestly can't see the service lasting to much longer.
The beginning of the end was when the government separated the Royal Mail from the Post Office ...successive governments have since then pushed further down the road to privatisation of the mail and closure of post were once a profitable business and (in the case of post offices)a crucial local service, but since a profitable publicly owned industry cannot be allowed to exist under the current political ethos they just have to go
I believe this is just one more step on the road to privatisation, giving them a chance to look profitable to any buyer.
An inevitable consequence of changing communication habits.
perhaps the best option is to all post second class instead of first .. its a second class service so appropriate, only 1 delivery a day so is there a difference in the service of first and second these days?
Oh dear .... no privatised industry offers better service or better value for money than it's nationalised predecessor... I mean you don't even have to look very hard to see that
I do not choose to be I admit.
