The relationship that is, it's not just for Christmas.
What is it about this time of the year that causes people to abort their normal practises and make a run at finding a partner? Girls do it, guys do it, in fact anyone out there looking available is likely to get hit on by someone looking to find companionship, and find it in a hurry.

It's probably the same reason the suicide rate goes up.... lonely people looking for something everyone else seems to have at Christmas: friends and family. Of course, all the commercial hype doesn't help either: If you don't have someone you're the odd one out. confused

As cubes says, the hype about this time of the year is that we should all be sat around together in large groups of family and friends.
So either they believe that they need to fit in or they just want a present on Christmas day!
