I do so wish you would get it right.
QUEEN Elizabeth II has become the second-longest reigning monarch in 1000 years of British history.
Her reign of 59 years and 95 days, plus 15 extra leap-year days, puts her ahead of George III, whose total reign was 21,644 days.
Queen Victoria - the Queen's great-great-grandmother - is the only royal to spend longer on the throne. She reigned for 63 years and seven months until her death in 1901.
If Queen Elizabeth II continues to reign, she will overtake Queen Victoria's record in September 2015.
Robbo,
well we should expect GnV to get confused wink , afterall the French got rid of their Monarchy years ago

. . . stuff . . . .

I love you Robbo! I had visions of a replay of the row Gem and I had about her putting the bunting out the last time we were meant to be celebrating summat to with the bluddy royals. rolleyes As it happened we were on holiday last time round, and she can do what she likes on holiday, obviously, but I'm not having the stuff on my 'ouse! Don't often put me foot down, mainly cos I'm crap at it and she'll just look at me daft in a 'Awwww, bless yer, trying to be all manly' kinda way, but calls for the wearing of my very biggest shoes, that one. lol
September 2015 you say? Oh, and first week in June for 60 years of her glorious reign next year of course.
*checks diary, books holiday slots years in advance*

That is a matter for William to decide when he accedes to the throne. He might choose to be known as George, in deference to his great grandfather or even Charles. On the other hand, if he manages to get his ageing father to abdicate (or pass him the poison chalice) after Elizabeth II falls of her perch, he might prefer William, as the conqueror!

Does she 'reign'? What power does the modern monarch have I wonder?
As for achieving a long time on the throne - it's a measure of her longevity and being old - it isn't clever, just a biological fact. dunno
