Seems like a perfectly good enough reason to spend that kind of money, when no doubt this council will soon be laying people off.

Whats the rest of the story? There was so little in the story that I could not make up my own mind. No plans, no scheme, no nothing........the paper needs to report the news and not try and make it.
The tax payers alliance should be asking these questions not making silly remarks on half baked stories. The certainly do not speak on my behalf. Who are these numpties?

Politicians or Journos I would hazard a guess. Good at soundbites but nothing substantial..........or possibly printers

Typical..

An easy way to bump up the coffers.

The zigzags outside schools are there to protect the children. Parking on them at school times is (apart from being illegal) dangerous, selfish, stupid, moronic, did I mention dnagerous?
I would fit permanent cameras in such places and fine every single driver that blocked the zigzags at school start and finish times.
Parking restrictions may be inappropriate and heavy handed in some cases - in the matter of the areas outside schools they aren't enforced nearly strongly enough.
And don't get me started on the idiots who drive their children 300 yards to school junior or their teenagers to secondary school when there school itself is on a bus route. Even if they drive the kids to school - do they really have to pull up right outside the gate to drop their kids off?

Ah blame the politicians or the media, but us printers are good hard working honest folk. wink

And prone to cock-ups..........they need common sense to proof read their work

You obviously without doubt know nothing about printers or the trade itself.
Designers write the stuff...different field entirely my friend.
Printers just print what is supposed to be the finished article.
That is like saying it is the painters fault, for the window he is painting is crooked.loon

It is always someone elses fault. A printer could never read anything..........."it is the other guys job guvner". lol
Dave_Notts
Well said foxy your words are so wise and eloquent.

Do yourself a favour Davey and take it from someone who knows a bit more about the trade than you do...in fact pretty much about everything if we are being honest.

So are you saying that a trade can fuck up and blame other people for the cock up and that has no bearing on that trade? Interesting. Now are we in the Council thread where not all decisions are made at a local level but that is no excuse?
Hmmmmmm I find your logic changes with the wind if it gets close to home.
Dave_Notts
I agree with Dave.
I was merely trying to educate you, but obviously your not interested and then twist it around to another comment that makes no sense to me at all.
I really worry about you at times Davey boy......" it's the demons in me head I tell ya guv ".

Hmmm, interesting comment Dave.
Who is to say that something is/is not a "fuck up"? A simple example for you... the brand name FCUK...
By your rule, the printer should have noticed an apparent misspelling and corrected it screwing up a whole multi-million dollar enterprise
If you pardon the pun wink

Has Benny unlocked himself from sending himself a pm yet?
Some people would think councils never waste money.

If this cost 190 grand and the council paid that much for this, then criminal charges should be brought against them by the council tax payer.
I have heard some rubbish in my time, but this is right up there near the top.
