Then theres this story;

Now, I don't for one moment believe that the grandmother will be deported, but the mere fact that she has gone through this hassle is not fair, IMO.
I also believe that the romainian will never be deported, but, how the hell did he manage to con so much out of the system!!ffs! :sad:
I do not for one minute believe a person who has travelled all her life on a Canadian passport not realise that it is not a British one. She is entitled to a British one because of duel nationallity, she just has to pay the fee...........aaahhhhhhhhh could this be the real reason? She doesn't want to pay the bill............tough.

She must have obtained a new passport since she was 6 months old, probably in the last 10 years - so wouldn't her national status have come into question then? And why did she choose a Canadian passport over a Bristish on, since she has no links to Canada anymore?
And what about all those things we do in our lives that require production of a birth certificate? I find it hard to believe she has never been asked, and had to prove, her British citizenship.
But anyway, surely she is British simply on the basis of her mother being British? No need to prove anything except her relationship to her mother. dunno
