Should we get rid of the post counts so that no one new or shy can feel intimidated by the number of posts a member has done in forum? I reckon we should smile

Yes I agree we should, I hate been labelled and tagged.
The post count serves a useful purpose so leave it alone.
It's the tag or label that is meaningless.
I agree with what has been written elsewhere. Calling someone 'godlike' was originally a bit of fun but has now passed it's sell by date and could be misinterpreted/misunderstood.

Oh go on then GnV......What purpose does it serve? I reckon the only one it serves is to, misguidedly, fill the large post count holder with pride at being so chest expandingly clever smile

Says i with a post count nearing SIX THOUSAND! by god what a guy I am
I really don't mind either way (I think i can just about count to ten ... although it has been a long day!)
I can see why some people may see 'Godlike' as intimidating as stated in the other thread, however some people may like the tags as a bit of fun.
How about a compromise and add more tags with Godlike status being so high that it could never really be achieved and no one's bar ever being full?
I don't mind either way, in fact i hadn't noticed it anyway lol
Fuck its me I know its me OMG i knew i was being paranoid!

Good god man! I am feeling myself a bit now. sillyhwoar::-?
Get rid of the Godlike for me Losty, I wouldn't bat an eyelid. I see it in a completely ironic way anyways, I know damn well I'm anything but. It always was meant to be viewed through the lens of irony I think, but hey, I don't give a flying one about my forum rank, or the prospect of not having one. I'd be stunned if it changed anything whatsoever as far as how n00bs approach the forum though, I think the argument that was made there on the other thread was largely bullshit.
Post counts though, along with join dates can be useful I think. A join date on its own means nothing. There will be account holders out there who've barely set foot in forum or chat since registering their account years ago. At least the post count is an indication of which of us has actually been active to some degree on the site over the years. I accept there are other ways of checking like a search on forum posts but the post count is there at a glance. It doesn't necessarily indicate a genuine member, but it gives an idea who might be worth looking at in more depth for new users perhaps, IMO. It's not an ego thing at all I assure you.
Having said all that if the majority view was get rid of it I really couldn't give a rat's ass mate.

Is it really going to make a shred of difference to people posting or for new members Lost?
I have heard some silly things on here but this is the biggest load of rubbish I can ever remember.
It will in my opinion not make a shred of difference at all, so I have voted to leave it exactly as it is. Who exactly are the people who feel ' intimidated ' by the number of posts Lost? This is a bloody adult site and you are saying people are intimidated to post because another member has a zillion posts? Are there adults out there that are so upset by things like this? Well I hope we never end up having a meet with people who get so easily offended. rolleyes

Awwwwww, my hearts falling apart GnV. :violin:
If people are really intimidated by such trivial rubbish, perhaps the sex industry is a bit too much for their little souls as well.

On other forums the tag appears to relate in some way to the theme of the forum.
So I`d suggest something a little more relevent ...
"Godlike" to me, appears to hark back to the days when the whole internet thing was more important than the forum itself .
Don`t worry I know what I mean lol
I have no problems with it being clear who has been posting more, it just seems to be a semantics issue .

I think some of the names were to do with the 'heaven' bit of the site mods used to be 'heavenly helpers' or something like that.
Get rid of it, serves no real purpose and could be seen as an intimidating barrier to newbies.
As an aside, please can we have a nice glossy black colour theme.
Get rid of it and introduce randomly meaningless taglines
Like :
Gobshite
Talks for England
shut up
Spouts drivel
etc etc
Or Sexually inspired nonsense unrelated to postings:
Goes like a rabbit
Hung like a Jedi warrior
Fiercely shaggadelic
Randomly horny
Post count should go as it is a fact that some people view it as a badge of honour to be a top poster and consequently post shite just to get another post in.......
Tags should change just for humours sake and add something light to everyones profile - whether they like it or not !
here are the titles with the respective post milestones.

There have been threads about this subject before with many good suggestions for changing the descriptions of levels your post obtain. It should be simple enough to implement however Admin seem intend on annoying people by grouping CA threads with JFF threads with .....
'Nuff said.
I like your suggestion Lost, but what's the point in suggesting a reinvention of something you want to get rid off?
I love the mix of subjects in one forum - OK I can understand chatroom issues, lets meet up, dogging, commercial seperate but otherwise throw the rest in to the melting pot and lets have some fun smile
