Is there any truth in this?
and how did the rumour start dunno
A few years back we were at a friends house and the same subject came up just as my little lad who was playing in he garden and then all of a sudden ran past waving a length of pampas grass.
We all burst into fits of laughter.
Some one also said that you can tell a swinger in a supermarket because they are the ones that buy tiger bread dunno
But saying that I've always had a thing for Mariella and her sexy voice so if she is on the site and would like to drop me a Pm I am free tomorrow night :giggle:
The rumour started in the Seventies after a sitcom had a sketch about it. Since then the "joke" turned into fact.
Even Wiki reports it as an urban myth
Looks like the joke is on the Daily Mail again lol

My parents had pampas grass in there garden, planted in the 70s!!!!
Was there something they never told me?
A house I looked at buying, already has some in the front garden!! lol lol
Didn't the pampas grass thing come from 70's play Abigail's Party?
We have some very well grown pampas gass outside our offices at work. dunno

First of all I thought maybe Dawnie started it, but she don't gossip, its got to be Deancannock lol
well...it came about because in the 70's they never had sat nav did they...so they would just say turn into the street and look for the pampas grass !!!
the ones to watch these days thou, are the ones in supermarkets with wet wipes in trolley, but no young kids !! Its a sure sign i would say !! Oh and the fishnet stockings and thigh lengh boots also helped to give a clue !!..( and thats just the blokes ) !!

I bought a house 3 years ago - a huge clump of it was in the front garden.
The neighbours are all lovely - very friendly.

Are you sure that's not suspiciously friendly ??
