Is it possible to set up a private event for only invited peeps? If so How?
Yes - we use it quite often.
events > list event > type = private
when it's approved you can invite selected people
anyone else who tries to attend will be listed in the requests section - u can delete these as appropriate.

Dead easy.
Originally the Events section was set up to augment events in the LMU forum, though some prefer only to use the forum, but some post their event in both, by all means post the event in the forum and then create an events listing, its also worth editing the forum post after to include a link to the events listing if choosing to use Forum and Events.

In the top right you then have 4 'tabs'
- Home
- Events
- List
- Search
select the List one
You should get the following help text, which will help guide you
If you are hosting an event, social or munch you can post it here, there are different rules that apply to private events and social / munch events. Please follow the instructions below to list your event. Please note that all events must be approved by site moderators before they will appear on the website.
So for you :
Type: will be Private
Title: up to you
Description: again up to you
Then use the onscreen help text in respect of the following :
Date of the Event
Location details
Who can attend the event, which is optional
then List the Event.
The Forum MODs will then have chance to check it's eligable, in accordance with site AUP, etc. and 'approve' the Event (depending on time of day, but usually takes a few hours)
So keep checking back under your :: Events http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/members/my-events.html and you'll then see it listed under Upcoming Events when it's done.
The next step is to 'manage' your Event, so click the manage option (under the Status heading), which will bring up several options
- Event shows you the event listing, plus some additional local info based on what SH have for what you input for Location Details earlier
- Invite allows you to either select profiles from your Friends list or just usernames so that when you then click Invite if sends an invite to your event to them
- Attendees shows which invitees have accepted the event information
- Contact allows you to bulk message people on the list
- Requests people who've spotted the Event over and above those invited who you may wish to allow to attend, or decline
- Removed people from the list
- Reserves
- Edit, to change any of the details originally MOD approved
Might all sound complicated at first reading, however once you do step by step and also follow the help text on each screen it's pretty easy to follow and quite easy to manage.
